Hungary - Croatia, Friendly Game, 26/03/2016 Groupama Arena

So our first friendly of the year, and first Euro 2016 warm up game is at the end of this month on the 26th, in the Groupama Arena vs Croatia!

The Croatians released their squad list earlier today.

A HORVÁT KERET:

Kapusok: Danijel Subasic (AS Monaco), Lovre Kalinic (Hajduk Split), Ivan Vargic (HNK Rijeka)

Védők: Darijo Srna (Sahtar Doneck), Vedran Corluka (Lokomotiv Moszkva), Domagoj Vida (Dinamo Kijev), Dejan Lovren (Liverpool), Gordon Schildenfeld (Dinamo Zagreb), Sime Vrsaljko (Sassuolo)

Középpályások: Luka Modric (Real Madrid), Ivan Rakitic (Barcelona), Ivan Perisic (Internazionale), Mateo Kovacic (Real Madrid), Milan Badelj (Fiorentina), Marcelo Brozovic (Internazionale), Alen Halilovic (Sporting Gijón), Domagoj Antolic (Dinamo Zagreb)

Csatárok: Mario Mandzukic (Juventus), Nikola Kalinic (Fiorentina), Marko Pjaca (Dinamo Zagreb)

Really strong side. Curious to see our squad list, as Storck said in the friendlies he will be trying new players out as kind of a "try out", and that he pretty much knows who hes taking already to France but there are a few spots open still and will give these guys a chance, as well as trying to build for the WC qualifiers in September.

Croatia play Israel on the 23rd, which is 3 days before they come to Budapest.

They may try out fringe players.
Our only hope of losing no more than 0-3.

Really interesting call ups, but with no surprises. I only wonder if Lovrencsics ever played any game as defender. I'm glad to see Korhut's return and have one question - who is Fiola's back up as RB? Is it really necessary to have five strikers and dismiss such players like J.Varga or Szolnoki?

Guess Lovi could be in line to play there? Guess he has the attributes to do it? Storck has made some bizarre decisions that have paid off in the past so I wouldn't be too surprised if it somehow worked

I remember K.Simon playing in NT as RB under Pinter. I don't know if he had any qualities to play as RB. I think you know better if he succeed. Probably don't because he didn't receive more call ups (before his horrible injury of course).

Lovi has really big problems with his defensive abilities. Offensively I'm 100% sure that he is one of most skilled players in polish Ekstraklasa, but defensive performances of Lovi were reason why coach Jan Urban benched him in first games.

I think he would be still reserve player for Lech if Szymon Pawlowski wouldn't be injured. Now I see Lovi receiving call up to NT as RB. I understand if you guys were playing against Gibraltar or San Marino, but for me Lovi as RB looks really weird...

Maybe its a typo that Lovi is a defender. Other sites have him under attacker so I guess we will find out on game day or a few days before during interviews.

The Croats are gonna take it easy in this one..why should they get hurt and expand undue energy..0-0 or 1-1.

Can you guys confirm if Barnabas Bese also received a call up? I have just watched hungarian squad at transfermarkt page and Bese is included.
I really like this guy and hope he will have strong career. Who's idea was to move him from striker positon to RB? J.Garami's or new MTK's coach?

PS. Kadar was injured during 1st half of Lech - Legia game. Lech's coach said that Kadar will likely miss NT games.

Bese was called up instead of Lovrencsics who's out sick, yep. Kadar also won't play this weekend.

Storck also confirmed that he won't be calling up Vanczak or Leandro again - too old basically. Kinda sad but understandable
