WC 2018 quali thread

from now on, everything VB related goes here

PORTUGAL
SWITZERLAND
HUNGARY
FAROES
LATVIA
ANDORRA

almost a dream group for me. unlike the previous one. loads of nice places to visit. Riga, Lisboa, possibly Zürich or Andorra/Barcelona.

then, from qualifying pov also good:

Portugal has their worst generation since the 1970s.

Switzerland are also in decay.

Latvia has their worst team since independence.

Faroes weakest possible team from pot 4.

Andorra is just one of the super minnows.

but then again, we're Hungary ffs, anything is possible, from a Portugal beating to a defeat against Faroes or a 0-0 in Andorra

they already fixed the programm

2016. szeptember 6.: Feröer–Magyarország
2016. október 7.: Magyarország–Svájc
2016. október 10.: Lettország–Magyarország
2016. november 13.: Magyarország–Andorra

2017. március 25.: Portugália–Magyarország
2017. június 9.: Andorra–Magyarország
2017. augusztus 31.: Magyarország–Lettország
2017. szeptember 3.: Magyarország–Portugália
2017. október 7.: Svájc–Magyarország
2017. október 10.: Magyarország–Feröer

we can start off with 12 points in 2016

too bad the Latvia away game is not in Junius

but then again, don't forget, we won't have Király, Gera anymore. Juhász and Dzsudzsák also old then. who will come next? I don't see much talents there.

I am mostly enthusiastic about going to Lisbon (for the 9th time now) and Riga.

but truth be told, this is really one of the easiest possible groups. even though it may not appear as such at first sight.

Ours is average. Avoiding France and Italy went well, but we got Polan from pot 3... Definitely harder than this time around for us.

they are not exactly looking good in their quali round now although they surely have a piss poor group. probably the easiest possible. Slovenia, Lithuania, Estonia, San Marino, you kidding me? didn't change the world in the last wc quali circle either. on top of that they lost to England of all teams

ok I give you that Portugal is kind of a mumus for us, time to finally beat them anyways and now is a good time with them being utter crap. but the Swiss, whenever we faced them in a quali group we finished ahead of them (1982 and 1998) even when we were utter crap and they kinda decent (1998)

The Swiss aren't a team to fear, although Romanian teams always have trouble with them.

Tbh when I saw this, I was very pleased. Very easy group, I thought, with our luck we would get the hardest group, or the likes of Holland again, God was on our side for this, we can come second if Storck didn't F up. And if we make the Euro, it'll be a very good warm up, getting our boys even more pumped, and give us more hope to actually make the biggest turni in foci. Hungary > Ronaldo

That's because I actually prayed for this draw! Although I asked for Bosnia from pot 2, Romania or Wales from pot 1, but still, close enough.

It's all going to come down to the games against the Swiss and Portugal (obviously). If we don't win the rest of our games Storck needs to Fork off

The schedule is indeed really favorable, would be nice to start the campaign with 12 points. Doable?

In that case we Storck should call up Tisza, Balogh and Bódi! I dare not say Szakáy.
