ECQ: Hungary vs. Finland - 14th November, 2014 - Groupama Arena - Budapest

We can be torn regarding the past all we want, but truth is I am way more concerned with regard to the future. Dárdai said if we beat the Faroese, we shall be able to defeat the northeners as well - in Budapest at the sold out Ferencváros stadium. Do we agree?

(I'm only asking because I'll be there. Getting my supporters card this week. )

Without Jesus, a hopeless end. With him, an endless hope.

The immediate future is looking Don't really understand what Dardai is talking about. Finland is ranked (yes they're imperfect) over 100 places higher than Faroe Islands. Home field doesn't cover that big of a gap.

If they play at all the way they did vs Faroes (I know theyre and all, but still, the shots and possession they had ...) , then Hungary will really struggle to get even a point IMO. If they play like the second half vs Romania, they can win. Could go either way really.

I'm expecting a close win, something like 2-1. Finland score 1st, then at HT Dardai has a huge team talk + Motivation then we score 2 goals, 1 being a late PK

I really want Koko to play, again looked real good today, nice goal too

Id go,

-----------------------------Gula--------------------------
Varga-------------Juhasz-----------Korcsmar-------Kadar
-------------------------Tozser/Elek----------------
Lovi------------------------------------------Dzsudzsi
---------------------------Gera/Koko---------------
-----------------Priskin/Nikolics------Szalai----------------

I would leave Dzsudzsak and Lovi on all game, Gera should start and then bring on a fresh Koko at HT or 60th min. Bring on either Niko or Priska for the other or Szalai, whichever one is doing worse. And Id bring on Elek for Tozser. The D should be what we had vs Romania, they were solid, and I think Gula is already playing again. Great keeper, plays every week. Kiraly is good too though, and so is Dibusz. TBH I wouldnt mind either one. Bogdan wont be able to play still.

We are at home so I would go attacking from the start, and if we play with as much heart like in Bukarest we will be fine. Dardai guarantees a win

This is a kind of, Sorsdonto game, we "need" to win, so the hype will hopfully help us. Usually we choke tho, but its Dardai.

LOL I could see that happening..
Tozser surely starts over Elek though? And I'd start Kovacs and have Gera come in later. What's up with Fiola and Rudolf btw?

haha problem with Hungary is it can go either way in every match they play, but at least watching them is never boring or predictable

it was bad, not boring. I was scared and excited at the same time that those Faroes could score any moment.

Totally agree. This is why I don't have a favorite club team really (in football). Watch them though because enjoy the sport played well. There are some clubs I favor a little, but don't feel it like in NT games for sure.

You should love Finnish league football then No millionares, no diceases of modern football, no money...Even the ultra fans are not politically radical or racist.

The feeling as a Finnish supporter is not great right now after that abysmal display in the last game. However, the feeling WAS great and positive before GRE and ROU games, and what happened?

I'm waiting for this, half eager, half scared. Hungary is pretty much the same level we are, so it's totally possible to win even in an away game. But on the other hand, the pressure grows and we need a result. A loss would make the winter very dark. It's long and dark anyway, because our domestic football starts in April-May...

I'll take a draw, if we win at home.

Probably well over 1000 Finnish travelling to the match and the tickets are not on sale yet. I'm hoping UEFA doesn't decide that this match should be played behind closed doors... UEFA's decisions regarding the Romania-Hungary troubles are due to tomorrow. The MLSZ is shit and very unprofessional at least when it comes to communicating with other associations. The Finnish FA has been asking tickets for months now.

Seems like Vasas-Sopron could be the main event of the trip...

If it ain't broken don't fix it!

I don't think they'll do it for this game. When they punished us for the game against Israel, they waited 8 months to put the ban on us. Not really fair for the fans doing it this close to the match.

would be funny to close this one as it is one of the few fixtures where our "supporters" are not expected to cause trouble
