Players returning to Hungary

What do you make of it? Do you think it's a good thing?

Obviously they get more playing time and raises the level of NB1. But will this be at the cost to the NT?

Juhász, Priskin, Gera, Kádár, Elek, Gosztonyi,. Lázár, Halmosi, Shitkovics, Vass, Rudolf and Varga 'Hungarian Ronaldo' Roland have all come to NB1 after various levels of success playing abroad.

Just 5 years ago we had all of our players playing abroad and Rudolf (Debrecen). What is happening now was unthinkable back then.

Your thoughts gentlemen and please vote.

I would vote for the option "awesome! last time we were good at a world cup we had a full squad of NB1 players only"

Slight amendment to my answer: We won't always suck but this current crop will so it doesn't matter where they're playing. Hopefully the new generation will produce better footballers.

Having a look at the players you mentioned who could play abroad and at what level (imo):

Juhasz could easily at Bundesliga 2/Championship/Eredivisie/Belgium level
Priskin lower Eredivisie club maybe? I personally think he's better than Nemeth
Gera lower Championship club, but not for a full season. Hasn't got the legs anymore
Kadar probably not a league any better than ours. Possibly for a lower Austrian side or similar standard, but there's little point in that
Elek - Same as above
Gosztonyi - Same as above, maybe not even that
Lazar - Same as above, probably
Halmosi - Same as above, maybe not that
Shitkovics - Same
Vass - Same, maybe better if he has a good season and gets into form. Currently, no
Rudolf - Lower Eredivisie maybe?
Varga - Same as Kadar/Elek etc

I normally agree with many of your thoughts regarding foci and life. Always respek them.

But I cannot agree or respek this.

You should be arrested for this.

Where we'll both agree is that Priskin has done more for the 'A' NT than Németh has. Priskin isn't even 20% of the player that Németh is.

I think you've only seen Németh when his confidence is low. You should see the footage I have of him. Breathtaking.

I think Nemeth has completely lost everything he ever had, personally. His movements are slow, he can't kick the ball very hard and he doesn't seem to have an eye for goal. He's like the Hungarian Torres, but at a much younger age. Injuries or confidence, I dunno?

My thoughts on the players you mentioned.

I think pretty much all of them can play a decent level in Holland/Belguim and Bundesliga 2.

Juhász, Gera and Vass even higher than that.

btw, How can you say Juhász is B2, Championship and Holland etc when you say he's better than John Terry?

btw 2, I'm still confused why no bigger team than Anderlecht took Juhász when he was in his prime. Every Anderlecht fan and people in the media though Juhász was on his way to a bigger club.

btw 4, Vass is quality. Again...I don't think you've seen him at his best.

btw 5, Lázár Pál will go onto a bigger club. At least I hope he does. I don't want him to go backwards like Varga.

btw 6, I wonder where Varga will end up too.

btw 7, did you notice there was no 'btw 3'??

It is, but those 3 things I mentioned you can all lose through injuries / confidence. Not saying he never had it, I just don't think we'll ever see that Nemeth again.

problem is. situation and squad back then can't be compared to what we have now. heck, even a Szanyó-Böör-Dvéri tengely are better than what we have now

Can't decide between..

It's terrible for the NT that they play weak opponents

It's better to play in NB1 than sit on the bench abroad

..but I'm leaning towards the first one. The NT is more important than NB1. At least has an ever so slight chance, whereas NB1 has none (although still could improve). NB1 being the final destination for our most promising players is embarrassing.

Wouldn't say this about Koman (yet), but spot on regarding Nemeth. Even if he picks it up anything higher than where he was..low or maybe mid Eredivisie would be :eekani:
