Csanadi Arpad

Hey Guys,

Long time I have been on here.

I have a question, does anyone know where I can get some good information on Csanadi Arpad?

He played at Fradi in the 40s, coached one year in 1958.

He was an academic and very big in the Hungarian Olympic organization.

He wrote a book on Foci that was published in 1955 simply called: Labdarúgás Volumes 1-3.

It was translated into English in 1965.

Apart from this information, does anyone know of some good sources about him?

This is what we know, his books from 1955 are the basis for all modern footballing training we know today. Academics from Brazil, the Netherlands, even the Spanish are using his research. Weel Coever's moves are straight out of his book which by chance Renee Muehlensteen of Man United is using Csanadi's work. (He got his training under Weel Coever).

If you are a coach or coach youth players, Csanadi's stuff is where everyone got their ideas.

Which begs the question, a Magyar authored the techniques used in training modern footballers, why aren't we still using it?

What's great about them is the Arany Csapat are doing the demonstrations. So, there are a lot of Puskas pictures in it.

It is out of print in English. Seems Corvinus needs to resurrect it.

(Is Corvinus publishing still around?)
