If it wasn't planned, it wouldn't have worked. You can see Origi looking over his shoulder, feigning a lack of attention. But he knew what was coming. It was executed brilliantly. The Barca defense was collectively suckered into it. It's a thing of beauty.

Utter shambles from Barca.

How you can let that happen 2 years running?

If Liverpool lose, though, it would be 4 lost finals from 4 under Klopp..

Imagine losing 3 CL finals (1 with Dortmund, 2 with Liverpool)

Anyhow I said that the winner from Barca-Pool will win it, still stand by that.

Seriously, putting 3 past Bayern in Munich and 4 past Barca (with 2 backups being decisive). Well done.
Doubt Salah would be fav. if they win it.

He's hardly been pivotal this time round.

They're terribly overrated. The EPL is a superior league also. Much tougher competition throughout.

I have to say that I'm not surprised regarding the outcome. Liverpool could always score 3-4 goals if everything went their way.

This is where the coaching comes in though.

Barcelona went out yesterday because of Valverde's and his coaching staff. They opted for the same team in the return leg despite the fact that Liverpool were better for 70 minutes at Camp Nou.

They knew Liverpool would attack the spaces behind Sergi Roberto because he lacks pace to deal with the long diagonal passes. It also pushed Barcelona further down the pitch because SR wouldn't attack out of fear of being caught out. It was a different story when Semedo came on.

The second error is connected to something that Valverde's failed with since he joined Barcelona: a lack of control. Barcelona not only fell into Liverpool's "correcalles" (up and down) type of game but also failed to win it. Partly thanks to Alisson's ability in goal but to 90% because Vidal/Rakitić were playing instead of Arthur.

Arthur is the best ball holding midfielder at Barcelona and he would've calmed things down like Modrić and Kroos did for Madrid against Atlético Madrid in 2017 when they went down 2-0 after 15 minutes.

Klopp, meanwhile, managed to get a maximum effect from his substitutions because he saw there was enough space for Gini Wijnaldum to actually exploit his qualities.

well, all they needed was one goal, something which they usually manage quite easily. they really had no reason to worry or make major tactical changes. they were just super unlucky not to score anything. and Liverpool using their chances so well.

but yeah Semedo should have played instead of Sergi Roberto from the start

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

Everytime Messi is Barcelona only source of creation and also the decisive player, Barcelona ends controled in CL at some point. Add to that the aging aspect of many players and the strange idea to not give Artur more and more space to control the game. But really, losing Neymar made Barça be more Messilona than ever. He is almost as lonely as when he had to trust on Fabregas.

Liverpool were also super unlucky not to score in Spain and were the better side over two matches.

It is over.

Ajax has never lost a match where they led. 55 times. 45 wins, 10 draws. Amazing statistic over many decades over European football.

Why were Trippier marking De Ligt on corners. He lost him anyway for the first goal, but was marking De Ligt again later in the half. Crazy... Trippier so error prone, but it's like David vs Goliath

****ing amazing.

Lucas Moura is the most loved man in Rotterdam now

Spurs played MUCH better than they did at London. Could have scored 6-7 tonight.

Pocchetino full marks with his attacking subs. He had to take risks though at 2 down.
