The 2 teams who qualified from our group make semis. Barca and Spurs.

Lovely to see stadium applauding both teams, classy.

It may be funnier if Barca ends kicked in the semis, but doubt so.

VAR 2 : Oil Money 0. Way to go VAR!

Yeah truly a memorable quarterfinal. A lot of bad defending but extremely entertaining and nerve wrecking affair.

I’m glad we’ll have one of Spurs and Ajax in the final.

I don't mind Spurs and I didn't mind Man City either, but I'm firmly rooting for Ajax at this point. And an Ajax - Barça or Ajax - Liverpool would be a classic Champions League affair.

I genuinely think this Liverpool is more inspired and better then Barca. Not sure if its enough to stop Messi tho, but Liverpool are better unit defensively, more energetic midfield, more potent attack etc.

Pool is a counter attacking team, Barça has their troubles against this kind of teams and far from great for sure

The two semis should provide plenty of fun.

Am I the only one thinking it was the wrong decision?

The rule clearly states it must be an intentional pass to make it offside. That was never ever an intentional pass/deflection. To me the goal should have stood.

I wasn’t aware of that. In that case it’s an unforgivable mistake by VAR.

Intentional/non-intentional matters only if the last touch before the balls goes to a player in an offside position had been been an opponent.

International Football Association Board | IFAB

"A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by:"
...
A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball (except from a deliberate save by any opponent) is not considered to have gained an advantage.

Not even by an oponent anymore, they are considering the intention of the player to go for the ball, if she fumbles and sends the ball to an oponent, it is enough to clean the offside.

The Llorente goal shouldn't have stood. For some reason the referee only saw one angle, and not the one which showed the ball striking Llorente's hand before going in.

I thought so too. Not sure it shouldn't have stood, but about the angle. From that angle it looked as if it had hit Laporte's hand to (what an insanely terrible game from that guy). From others it looked a handball by Llorente, but still a tough one, very close to his body.

Yeah, but this applies: A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball (except from a deliberate save by any opponent) is not considered to have gained an advantage.

Eriksen intentionally passed the ball back and it was only deflected, not intentionally passed by the City player.
