Yeah but to be fair they were a very young team doing extremely well in EPL. The manager was also quite overrated, O'Leary. In one of my saves he would go on to replace Alex Ferguson etc. What ever happened to that guy?

Ha I don't remember this. Don't remember meeting them in the CL or whatever in my Serie A saves.

In real life Fergie was meant to retire in 2002, and O'Leary was always touted as his replacement.

He managed Villa after that and did well one season when Juan Pablo Angel turned into Batistuta but then eventually he got sacked and not been heard of since.

Leeds shouldn't have sacked him though, they got too big for their boots. They were in the hunt in 01/02 but then faltered and finished 5th and replaced him with Terry Venables ffs who was way past it.

Didn't remember it till this thread but Viduka was around Ronaldo/Vieri level. Kewell would get past people really easily...maybe even better than Figo. Other players like Harte and Bowyer were a huge pain in the ass as well.

Pissed me off because I thought they were so overrated.

This wasn't just in one or two runs, btw.

What else...there were a few players I remember fearing because they pretty much always scored on me. Kluivert was one so I had to buy him.

There were a couple of stupid names who did amazingly well. I think friggin Brighi was one of 'em.

lol at Viduka being on their level.

I was always Inter for the sole reason of the Ronaldo/Vieri partnership.

Mateo Brighi was defo class, bought him in a few saves.

They had that Michael Bridges guy too, no? Their great striker before Viduka and Alan Smith and co.

btw George Graham laid the foundations for that early naughties Leeds team in the late 90s. O'Leary got credit for just spending stupid money, sanctioned by Ridsdale.. O'Leary's a shit manager that's why nobody hires him.

A good recent 1-to-1 documentary on David O'Leary.

Only 30 mins but mostly on his Leeds time.

Leeds lost 1-0 at Birmingham today
they slip out the auto promotion spots to 3rd after Sheff Utd won 1-0 at Preston
Norwich won 8th game in a row, they don't look like slipping up
Six games to go.

they probably find a way to muck it up again

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

Sheffield and Leeds switch places again, for the third time in three weeks. I watched the Leeds game today. Unlucky not to score early on, then piss poor in the second half.

Next week Leeds play the game Sheffield Utd played this weekend, away to Preston, and Sheffield play away to Birmingham.

Tougher fixture list for Leeds though, still would take Sheffield for automatic promotion over Leeds.

Sheffield won this morning. Leeds were leading at home to 10-men relegation-threatened Wigan, but it's 1-1 at half time now...

If Leeds win it, they'll be up three points with three games to go.

Also Norwich have drawn the last two games, clearly feeling the nerves, but if they win today, they'll be 99% in EPL; if they don't, still a huge chance but they'll be part of the race for a bit.
