It was a 50/50 call could have gone either way. Based on that the loss is bitter but it is what it is.

I saw the replay and thought it looked more of a penalty than not. And I wanted Juve to progress.

Hopefully we get a different winner, a Real 3-peat would be

Maybe we can move on from the pk and discuss the red card - by giving it referee made sure that even if somehow Ronaldo missed the PK the game was going to end in Real's favour. The amount of red cards opponents of Real are getting is absurd - we received 3 in our last 3 games against them and imo all 3 were undeserved. Then there are Verrati and Vidal red cards, which were pretty harsh. At the same time Ronaldo can dive, kick and push opponents, chase the referee without getting even an warning.

I mean this is a red card

and this is just a verbal warning

None of that addresses the fact that it was a very clear red card. Buffon was pushing the referee from behind. No way to get away with that. In fact others could have been sent off as well.

These things are always like this. I remember people doubting whether Zidane was rightly sent off after head butting Materazzi because "how can you end his career like that". Push the referee --> red card, no matter when. Any other outcome would have been Buffon getting away with shitty behavior based on his seniority, which is bullshit.

Last minute, huge occasion, lots at stake. Don't give it unless 100% PK.

Then, straight red, not yellow to Buffon.

Ref bottled it at the end.

Karin Benzema and Paris, lets drop the name calling ok?

And Firdy, saying Marcelo is crap is so 2012. Right now, you can start Casemiro the poor man Emerson.

First of all congrats to Real Madrid and Real fans.

Of course, it is a deserved qualification, had it gone either way for both teams, because in both legs both sides had 3-0 leads.

The tie was literally decided after the 90th minute, in a moment where the slightest mistake can be costly.

I think it is generally agreed that Vazquez wasn't expecting the pass and was likely going to overhit it with his chest and probably going to bounce into Buffon's arms. Benatia did not need to do what he did, but it was a final moment of desperation, I could understand it in terms of pressure and level of "aggression" let's say in that exact moment and scenario.

It was a PK, I am not going to beat around the bush. Moreover, though, it was a soft PK, and I am 200% sure that hypothetically, had let's say Varane committed the same exact action on let's say Pjanic as he was about to chest it, the Ref would not have called a PK. I am so sure of this.

In any case, I was not expecting Juve to mount anything near a comeback, but the fact that by the 65th minute Juve had leveled the tie in the Bernabeu is something magnificent. I'm proud of the performance, sad for Buffon, and looking forward to enjoying another CL campaign next season.

As for Cristiano Ronaldo for all the standing ovation fanfare he got in Turin I must say he makes it so easy to change your mind about him with all that diving and overall *****-ness. ANyway I don't want to sound like a sore loser. Well done to him. That PK was well-struck I have to say one of the best executed spot kicks I've ever seen given the nerves and tension (right up there with Pirlo's panenka in 2012).

What also makes me proud is the class shown by every Juventini towards Italian clubs in Europe, namely AS Roma.

I speak on behalf of everyone when I tell you that the entire Juve community are genuinely celebrating your CL match wins, and behind you to achieve good results.

It's irrelevant to talk about Benatia getting the ball. He might touch it very very slightly, but that doesn't mean it's not a foul. It's the contact after the touch that matters, because Vazquez still has the ball. It was a tough call to make but I think the ref got it right. Benatia causes enough contact to prevent Vazquez from scoring.

What the ref didn't get right is that if that's a foul, it's a foul from behind which prevents a clear scoring chance. So absolutely a second yellow to Benatia. The young ref clearly lost his marbles there for a while. It's hard to say whether Buffon deserved to be sent off or not, it all depends of what he said.

Juve should just stop whining. I can understand the players' frustration, but Agnelli talking about a systematic ("scientific" was his bizarre word) bias about Italian clubs is just ridiculous.

Irriducibili? No thanks, I'm a fan of Lazio.

That sudden movement of Lucas Vazquez head and chest when he's pushed says it all. He had gained the position and had no idea who was behind him. It was the last minute of the game, he was completely alone, he had to control the ball and shoot as soon as possible. Seriously enough, if that was my defender I would be furious at my team for leaving an attacker so alone in the area.

Yeah, it says that he dived. he reacted as if he was shot to a slight contact.

If it came from a supporter of Pro Cisterna I could accept it, but juventini talking about 50-50 penalties (in my opinion this penalty is something more than 50-50 anyway) given is fun. Your team has a big tradition of penalties given (or denied to the opponent) in crucial moments, 0-100 penalties conceded, 100-0 penalties denied to the opponent. There are supporters of Juventus who insist Ronaldo fouled Iuliano when it was clearly a foul of the clumsiest defender of Juventus ever....
This time your fav club faced a club with a bigger tradition of cheating. The bigger fish. Accept it. At least, it was a 50-50 situation (make it 70-30 indeed)!
