Fountain Pens

I didn't think posting this question would have been appropriate in the Lounge or basement jungle. Anyone can suggest some basic info on fountain pens and which they prefer? I am looking to start using them at home while taking notes and such. My budget is not unlimited. I would say that I would try the cheap options for now if they exist and are reliable.

I have a Waterman Harmonie. As far as fountain pens go it wasn't very expensive. 15 years ago I paid roughly $100 for it. It doesn't have the original nib anymore, because I dropped it and it became damaged beyond repair so I needed to have the nib replaced. The problem was that Waterman no longer produces Harmonie pens, so it was replaced with a nib from a different line which doesn't look as quite as elegant as the original but writes just the same.

Had to use a fountain pen at school for years. Massive pain in the arse as you need blotting paper for it also.

Dunno tbh, it was a comprehensive school in Wythenshawe. Hardly Eton.
