I've only read books by a few of these writers - J. M. Coetzee and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Her novel 'Purple Hibiscus' is really amazing and I'll have to check out more of her work in the future.

i've only read Absalom Absalom! from this list.

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

A list as random as any other, i've read 5,8 and 10. Faulkner has better books and the other two are hardly canonical.

Without Contraries is no progression. Attraction and Repulsion,
Reason and Energy, Love and Hate, are necessary to Human existence.
From these contraries spring what the religious call Good & Evil.
Good is the passive that obeys Reason. Evil is the active springing
from Energy. Good is Heaven. Evil is Hell.

Sounds interesting, Morierinho.

Seems like you, more than Leine, have the keys on getting on to the Root’s random list.

What more would Leine have to do to actually be there because I have little clue.

Perhaps not Faulkner at his best but certainly at his most ethical, Andrey?

I have a hunch that this list has at its core a bunch of ethical writers but that's not the whole deal here.

Nice, you have read Julian Barnes, I have not read anything by him apart from a tribute he wrote about the late writer Penelope Fitzgerald (why is she not on this list?).

Hasn't he got a reputation for being an anti-English/pro French Englander?

Tell me more about his book?

Like the idea of Junot Diaz in fact reading about him led me to a poem by Gustavo Perez Firmat that he quoted and that I liked.

What forces turned you to him?

This reads suspiciously like some kinda harsh, preachy devil-talk, not angel-talk and not the whispers of angels.

Try again, if you please (it can't be that hard?), JCamillo; you are a virgin, what sweet words of seduction – from angels - would make a Joseph less despicable?

Osmosis. Just need to touch the cover & I know.

No, really I just read fiction for pleasure rather than as an intellectual exercise & so I mostly stick to genre fiction. If I want to feel smart I'll just read non-fiction thanks.
