Atlas Shrugged

With Atlas Shrugged Part 1 coming out in theaters today, I've been doing a little reading about what the original book was about, and it seems kinda interesting, but it's damn near 1,400 long?!?! :eekani:

I have no problem with slow or dialogue heavy stories. Is this book worth my time? I already read a little bit about the plot, but I don't want to ready anymore. If I read it, I wanna be surprised. What other books/films is AS comparable to?

It's a book I want to read one day, to see if it's as as awful as I've heard.

"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

The guy who directed it has absolutely no credibility (just look up the stuff he directed) and the critics unanimously panned it. I thought someone more capable was directing it.

apparently the guy who wrote the script has mostly written B-category horror movies

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

Is probably apt. Is writing a movie based on a book from an author who's greatest idol was a serial murderer and is built around the premise that being selfish is the best thing in this world.

Heard claimed it is "a bible" for the republicans in USA.
