If you search carefully in the 1843 draft of Leaves of Grass you will find this poem
I have those pants
Those American pants, blue like the ocean
As I touch my groin and grunt, all America do with me
The guy who sells grocery
I touch myself, but I am not a high school collegial, I am a man with blue pants
Used by all America
Even women, but them are not as good as me.
Even Lincoln shall be buried while using one
But America will never accept
Those blue pants I mime – the ocean, because I am wet.
Walt threw it away because his sense of fashion. Frankly I understand the guy. Jeans is not cool. Too obvious, very blue. Everything (or everything that matters, I hope Fangio does not go using one) looks better with skirts or a dress.
Kat: "JCam, you may quote me now, but you are quite wise".
Kat: "JCam knows, we do not doubt in him".
