Worst Book You've Ever Read

What did you hate, yet keep reading just to see if it could possibly get any worse...

You know the scene it's very hum-drum
And my favorite song's entitled "Boredom"...

I usually stop reading if they dont catch me early on (recently got tired of the Last legion of Manfredi). But a book I was interested in reading to see what the fuss was about and read the same time as my siblings as a common project...was Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.

Non of us expected much due to negative reviews, but we had no idea it was this bad and cliche. The historic altering or dropping of facts was interesting, but his writing is seriously retardedly poor. Just kept reading to see how much more of a juvenile and generic hollywood script it could be. And he flabbergasted us with the utterly pathetic ending.

Second this. I read it to see what all the fuss was about, and man, is it crap! The plot, dialogue...everything.. It's just a poor, poor novel.

I don't know I never finish books I don't like

I remember I once read some really dumb book about aliens who turned into beatiful women and killed the men who slept with them or something...that was a really bad book I guess but I was quite young

since then my taste&selection has been impeccable

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

Italian Neighbors, by Tim Parks.

Heather mentioned Atlas Shrugged, which officer Barbrady said "totally sucks ass" - and that's exactly how I would describe Italian Neighbors.

So many bizarre pointers in so little space :eekani: .

For me it is probably Miss Smilla's Feeling For Snow by Danish author Peter Hoegh which is one of the biggest Danish International book succeses ever and was made into a film with Julia Ormond, Richard Harris and Gabriel Byrne among others in the late 90s.

Its so maddingly pretentious and weird-fake open minded- liberally using science for effect- bollocksy that I was close to blowing a fuse.

For the most part. Melville is superb, though. Steinbeck excellent.
