The Five Questions

These have been sailing around the internet for a couple of weeks. As I try to meet a cartoon-related deadline and some weird tasks at work (who thought telephone voice mail systems were so damn complicated), and ouch my leg, I still thought this might be an interesting thing for people to do. Enjoy or not.

1. You're stuck inside Farenheit 451, which book do you want to "be"? *

2. Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?

3. The last book you bought was?

4. What are you currently reading?

5. What five books would you take withyou to a deserted island?

* For those who have not read it or have forgotten, in the book people defeat the book-burning forces by "becoming" (memorizing it in its entirety) a certain book and then passing it on to their descendants thus keeping hope and literature alive.

You know the scene it's very hum-drum
And my favorite song's entitled "Boredom"...

i) "Odysseus" - Joyce
ii) "The Fateful Adventures of The Good Soldier Svejk During the World
War " Hasheck
iii) "Don Quixote" Cervantes
iv) "Catch 22" Heller
v) some history book either about Levski, "Полководцы Кавказких Войн" (Military leaders in the Caucas wars", "Hannibal" dunno

What will be your answers?

1 - It could be something like Ulisses, Reading it several times won't hurt
2 - Yes, although I must say nothing is bigger than the fictional idea of the Bronte sisters in my mind.
3 - I do not really bought a book for while, although the last Book I got for myself (I have ways) I think was Italo Calvino's 6 proposals for the next millenium...
4 - Aldous Huxely's The Grey Eminence
5 - Right now my "consume dream" are the four volumes of Complete Works of Borges, so they domain my mind.

Kat: "JCam knows, we do not doubt in him".

1.- Dante's Comedy, though it's kind of long and I haven't read it yet.

2.- Not really... Though there was this one brunette on a short-story by peruvian Alfredo Bryce Echenique. The story was called The Discovery of America, the lady was called America.

3.- Last week I bought 7 books at once. Emil Ludwig's Beethovenand his Michellangelo, Asimov's History of the USA from 1816 to the civil war and History of the USA from the civil war to the WW1
Gogol's Tales from St. Petersburg, a Brief history of urbanism by a spanish guy, and a historic book, by Bartolomé de las Casas: Breve tratado sobre la destrucción de las Indias

4.-Albin Lesky's The Greek Tragedy

5.- -- Would give The Bible a try.
----- The Coran
----- Joyce's Ulysses , solitude and spare time could be helpful for this one.
----- Hugo's Les Misérables so I don't forget french.
----- Jorge Luis Borges The Aleph starting with Shakespeare words: "I could be born in a nutshell and still feel like the king of the infinite universe".

"It is possible to imagine a distant future in which most other species of life are extinct but the ocean will consist overwhelmingly of immortal jellyfish, a great gelatin consciousness everlasting".

1. You're stuck inside Farenheit 451, which book do you want to "be"? *
Fahrenheit 451

Hehheheee, now there's a logical dilemma to solve.

2. Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?
No

3. The last book you bought was?
Something from D. Kostolanyi. Cost about €0.30
4. What are you currently reading?
We, the Arcturians by Dr. Norma Milanovich. It's bloody brilliant.

5. What five books would you take withyou to a deserted island?

The Famished Road by Ben Okri
America by Franz Kafka
Call to Beheading by Vladimir Nabokov
Your Consciousness is a Dream by N. Maharaj
Hunger by Knut Hamsun

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

1. You're stuck inside Farenheit 451, which book do you want to "be"?
Mijn kleine oorlog -My small war- (Louis Paul Boon), but since I'd have to know it by heart, something of Nijntje would be more realistic. I don't have a talent for memorising a text litterally

2. Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?
A crush is exagerated, but I'd love to see Mme. Clawdia Chauchat in The Magic Mountain (Thomas Mann)

3. The last book you bought was?
2 books: Bonjour Parrese (Corinne Maier) and 'About Grace' (Anthony Doerr)

4. What are you currently reading?
Still Omega Minor by Paul Verhaeghen, but it is the last time I'll get fooled by pretentious Dutch/Flemish writers who think a bit Auschwitz and a bit Greek mythology mixed in boring long sentences per definition results in litterature

5. What five books would you take withyou to a deserted island?
1) Underworld (Don Delillo)
2) Werk (Josse De Pauw)
3) Kapellekesbaan (LP Boon)
4) The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle (Haruki Murakami)
5) The Magical Mountain (Thomas Mann)
