Parma vs SPAL

Called-up Squad

• Goalkeepers: Bagheria, Frattali, Sepe;

• Defenders: B. Alves, Bastoni, Dimarco, Gagliolo, Gazzola, Gobbi, Iacoponi;

• Midfielders: Barillŕ, Dezi, Diakhate, Kucka, Munari, Scozzarella;

• Forwards: Baraye, Biabiany, Ceravolo, Davordzie, Gervinho, Inglese, Siligardi, Sprocati.

Somehow we're back in crisis in midfield with Rigoni and Stulac out injured, Deiola loan terminated, and Kucka, Barilla, Scozzarella not 100% fit. Diakhate comes in and even Munari called up although he's on the verge of exit.

Up front D'Aversa called 18 year old Davordzie from primavera, who joined us in November 2018 according to this

D'Aversa said that SPAL is an organized side and expect a tough game. We lost 1-0 in the reverse fixture.

i get that our main weapon is speed down the wing, but can't we calm down the tempo a bit, take time for the pass rather than sending early long balls. We're playing at home against an unspectacular SPAL yet we've only got 29% posession for crying out loud

And as you said that we doubled the lead and almost got 3! I guess we just gotta accept that conceding most of the possession is part of our story haha.

Also gotta say, Kucka is quality. Better quality in midfield already even with him not 100%. Wish Grassi didn't get injured...

weird that D'Aversa puts Gazzolla for Barilla at 2-2, imbalancing the midfield leaving Kucka and Scozzarella, maybe to play 5 v 3 at the back?. SPAL third was a long shot that wasn't closed out properly.

Bobby missed a sitter from a freekick in the 91st minute. what the hell

2 careless goals conceded from corners. Generally shoddy defending all round. We could definitely do with a reinforcement in that area.

I really don't understand why Gagliolo plays to the left when everybody knows that he's best at the centre?? I'd rather see him in the middle and Gobbi to the left. Bastoni is a hazard. I get a heart attack everytime I see him inside our own penalty box.

Defence has been sloppy in recent games. I agree re Bastoni, think it's just cos he's young.

Well that was a kick in the delicates..... Quite disappointing to not only throw a two goal lead but do it at home. I was counting on that result because there's a few tough games coming and I doubt we'll be getting that many points from so we could well slip back down... Hopefully the team have now got a pyshological slap in the face and won't be throwing games again...

We're clearly suffering from fatigue, which is strange due to the long rest we've had. But d aversa needs to rotate the team. Especially against juventus. What's the point of starting with gervinho against juve? I would play Ceravolo - Siligardi and Baraye up front. Why not? Let's rotate and experiment!

Yeah I think you are right - D’Aversa hasn’t really rotated the squad much (prob cos loads of players are just not good enough). We also have no alternate system to play if key players get injured.

It’s a shame as I think we could lose the next 2 or 3 games. Tough fixtures.
