Bulgaria squad for Jeux de la Francophonie in Ottawa?

Has anyone heard of a roster?

It (Francophonie Games) starts on July 12th (at least the soccer does).

It is a FIFA sanctioned tournament held in Ottawa for U-23 national teams.

I thought that only the Latin speaking and ex-French regions were taking part.

Anyways, us from Balkans will kick serious ass!

I just watched Bulgaria vs Gabon yesterday... Gabon won 5-0... I don't know what type of team Bulgaria sent but they were struggling yesterday. The coach was not very happy with the performance of his team. Although the Bulgarian fans at the game (around 25 or so) were singing and chanting throughout the game. I think they were happy to see their team play.

Sigma_Olomouc,
I'm really surprised :nervous:

Can you believe it?! In the newspapers there is no info about this issue at all.

Thank you for the information

Yes, xtc, that does not suprise me at all ... Can you imagine what kind of team is there if we don't know anything about it and it seems like all of the players of the teams from the first two divisions do not play

Sigma,
thanks for the info ... will you be so kind to continue doing that ... thought it seems like we will be out after the first rounds :depress:

I will see Bulgaria play tomorrow night...

Canada vs Bulgaria

Bulgaria needs a big win to advance. I try to obtain a roster, but it might be difficult b/c there are no programs. I am sure a few Canadian on-line newspapers will have reports about the game.

Should be a good game tomorrow night

Canada 4 Bulgaria 0 (att 10,000 including 30 Bulgarian supporters)

Okay.

I honestly felt sorry for the Bulgarian team. They were trying really hard, but they were just not good enough (slow etc..). Canada scored two goals in the first 26 minutes. Both were off headers (keeper had no chance). Canada added one more late in the half, and finished off the scoring in the 60th minute (or so).

Bulgaria had one decent chance on goal, but the player hit the side netting (he was obviously frustrated from the poor shot). I was really hoping Bulgaria was going to score a goal. The best player on the field was #7 (sorry no name), but he was taken off the pitch in the 60th minute.

I do have two names from the Bulgarian team (Lyubomir Hadzhiyski, and Metodi Milanov).

Bulgaria just couldn't keep up with the speed of the Canadian team, and the physical play.

So what type of team did Bulgaria send to this competition? I have a feeling these players knew this might be there only chance to represent Bulgaria in an international competition. They were very grateful for the support they received from the Bulgarian fans in the crowd.

Thank you,

Sigma,

you are absolutely right. This will be their only chance to represent BG on international level. I, honestly, don't know nothing about these guys. They are from the youth squads of some of the football teams or they play in the lowest leagues in Bulgaria. I wonder why BG have sent that squad after it's obviuos that the only thing that that team makes is to make the bad reputaion of the BG football even worse .

e-bye

Ps. Yeah... I forgot... great play guys, keep it up
