Before the match with Hungary

Well, after the game with Sweden, many Bulgarians feel disappointed, many don't believe we can make it to the finals in Germany. Yet, the second place is an option if we don't make more mistakes, and the first obstacle is Hungary.

A bit of a surprise for me, but all the betting houses consider Hungary's chance for a win higher the Bulgaria's one. it should be noted that Martin Petrov and Stilian Petrov will start in that match which would definitely affect the middle and front lines of the team. The defence will be without the two worst performing players in the game with Sweden, so in general I'd say we have a pretty good chance of winning the three points.

For the Bulgarians, you can here Stoichkov's press conference here - http://www.radiogong.net/download/au...F_STOI4KOV.wmv

I am trying to get tickets for the game ... and be there with around 10 more Bulgarians living in Budapest. We are planning to buy few Hungarian flags, cut the red from the top and sue it on the botttom

I think we should win that one. I saw Hungary twice this campaign (Island teh last one) and they shoudl not be a serious challenge. Of course, it wont be easy, as they are hosts and for teh 1st time in many years they see some kind of a chance (if they win they will go ahead of us), but we are simply the better team.

If we fail to win, it will most certainly mean bye bye Germany ... We wont get anything in Stokholm and even if we beat Croatia in Sofia we will still be away from 2nd place I think ...

A MUST WIN GAME!

Don't get me wrong, but I hope that the Hungarians pull out a good result

even if the best team wins it's still good.

That's exactly why I put money on a Bulgaria win.

Good luck!

Croatia is top candidate now for teh second spot in teh group. I think 1st is for Swe, arguebly best team in teh group, despite that 0-1 v Croatia. Now, BG has to win v. Croatia in Sofia, get sth in Stkholm, and hoep Croatia slips somewhere ... I think we are pretty much out of it, but we hope still reamains.

Jebiga, can't win them all.

I don't think so Bono, I think Croatia is gonna take first, if they hadn't messed up against you guys, they would have been long gone already. And they play Sweden at home.

Yes, but they also play us in Sofia, Swe plays us in Stokholm. And I rate Swe better, not b/s I have sth against Croatia, which is a solid team, but b/s I saw them both not just once over teh last few years ...

I expected Swe to beat Cro in Swe but somehow they didn't, in Zagreb again it could go either way. Both of them will be in Germany I think.

(sorry to all Bulgarians ;( )

actually, i am sorry but I am not. From what I saw last night - teh team is not good enough and both Cro and Swe are better. Our D is pathetic - slow, unorganized, old fshioned ... true we were missing few guys, especially Bojinoff, but you cant compensate with one string attacker.

At teh same time, there are good signs. Since Krassi balakov left, the creative midfielder role is empty ... however, both Gergiev and Jankov are good guys with godo future and Hristo is doing teh right thing to give them games and experience, especially when he doesnt have too many alternatives. I think in two years from now, if keep the team together and especially if some of teh young guys go playing abroad, we could have quite a good solid and expereinced midfield and brilliant attack. D woudl still be a problem thou.

You must feel at least a little sorry right? It svcks not having your own team at a EC or WC. but its true - Cro and Swe seem better at the moment. As long as you end 3rd in the group and get a reasonable draw next time, it should be possible for you. :
