CSKA Sofia was the club of the army and was the best club under the communist era.

So are the nostalgic of the communism CSKA fans?

I am not a CSKA fan but I woudnt say the fans are nostalgic. First of all the nosta;gia is a very broad term. Then, it is seen right now in BG but mostly among the older generation who were young when the old regime was in power. Most of teh CSKA fans are young and from the capital anyway. They neither remember communism nor really feel like it was better before ... Some of the best years of the team (at least the ones who we remember) were late 80s and early 90s with Sotichkov, Penev, Kostadinov, Lechkov and so on ... and they are hardly seen as comminist years as it was lalready perestroika times and things were changing and did change in 89.

I am sure they wanna be vicorious again and in many years in a row but i doubt they link these things with communism and the Army power. But not completely sure ...

WTF - is this the only CSKA Sofia thread in the XT forums??? And the last post dated March 26 2003 ???????????????????

CSKA go public. The Bulgarian stock exchange regulator let them launch an IPO for 3,000,000 shares per 3 Bulgarian LEVS each. The bad news is - nobody really trusts their current CEO Alexander Tomov. The expectations are the shares listed at the IPO would be bought by CSKA fans, but it won't be enough to cover current CSKA debts. Apart from that , they have to comply with club licensing regulations until the end of March, otherwise they would have to play in lower divisions next fall.

What's happening to both Levski and CSKA is shameful. The so called "grands" are going bankrupt :shakepalm:

CSKA Sofia going bankrupt; instead of them the Bulgarian Football Union will let Litex be renamed to CSKA 23 and play in the A Group with immediate effect.

That's not allowed by the UEFA FFP as Litex will be changing their name, moving to another city and using a trademark that was owned by another professional football club until now. Probably sanctions will apply to the Bulgarian participants in the eurocups this fall. Fecking retards alm:

CSKA-Sofia

CSKA-Sofia, which is the legal successor of Litex Lovech (renamed and moved to Sofia), was allowed by UEFA to participate in the European cups next fall. This is a settlement reached between UEFA and the club, as last year they were banned from participating in the Eurocups until 2019 and appealed the decision before the CAS, that was expected to lift the UEFA ban based on the sporting history of PFC Litex.

Well done, Kitties!
