Footy Tipping

Considering the fact that almost every year the footy tipping comes to an abrupted end before the season is even half way, i was just wondering, are there going to be any footy tipping this year?

Yes, of course there will be.

But there are a lot more other important issues in Xtratime at the moment, we can't talk about this much until the future of Xtratime is decided.

I reckon this season It should be diffrent to keep the interest up !!!

For a start I will make Dyertribe bookie , all tipsters have to be in straight away and given $1000 Xtime cash for the season. On the wednesday DT will post his odds example say Adelaide $1.60 V Fremantle $2.30. We all have to bet a minimum of $100 over a minimum of 4 games !! once you bust thats it !! the person with the highets amount of cash come the end of the season if we last that long is the winner !!

what do you's reckon ???

I reckon we have a trial run in the Wizard Cup

Dyertribe are you in for it ?

I'm down and pumped.

1st of all, i would like to say that this not Footy Tipping, this is Footy Betting
2nd, the whole idea is great except for the bit

, i think that's a bit unfair, i mean what if you loose $990 in the 1st game, does that mean you're out, considering the fact that you have to bet a min of $100. i reckon we should abolish the minimum and instead put in a maximum, that way no one can loose all their money in one game, like a max of $500 or something

No what I was trying to say & what everyone understood is every week you must spend $100 and that will have to be spread over a minimum of 4 games
So 4 games you dont have to bet cause its too close to call , but the other 4 you can put whatever you like on it aslong as the total bets equal $100

Yeah Ala...

It's a tops idea... in fact I'd go as far to say it's bonza...

I think it adds a little more excitement and room to move rather than the monotony of falling 20 behind the leader at the halfway mark and losing interest as with what normally occurs in standard tipping contests.

Also... if someone forgets to put their tips in they could get a cash penalty that could be won back anyway, instead of the contrived 'you get the away sides for that week' option that a lot of comps employ or simply getting a zero for that week.

EDIT: I also think it's a refreshing change and exciting format, as I know last season's standard tipping format completely fell apart.

"They picked on the wrong man - and the wrong country. It was like pouring petrol onto a fire as far as I was concerned.

There's an old saying that the dog that barks loudest never bites. They did a lot of barking but we bit them pretty hard. Uruguay's attitude just showed how scared they were of us - it was their last resort."

That's genious!

I'm in for sure...

I've made a pact with myself, I am not doing footy tipping anymore because I lose my money and never win. Only on the net I will do it, where it's free.

So if someone could get some rules up and running we could trial it for the Wizard Cup and then hopefully get into it for Round 1.

So let's try and get this straight.

We have $1000 at the start of the season.

Every week, we must pick at least 4 matches.

We must spend at least $100 each week.

???

Yeah...

1. Everyone starts with $1000 at the start of the season...
2. I'll list the odds of each week's matches from the betting agency I'm with at the earliest possible convenience...
3. Every round we must bet a minimum of $100 on any 4 matches...
4. Minimum bet on a match is $1 - therefore an example of a round would be:

Richmond v Essendon - $1 on Essendon @ $2.00
Adelaide v Western Bulldogs - $10 on Adelaide @ $1.60
Geelong v Brisbane - $19 on Brisbane @ $1.50
Fremantle v Collingwood - $70 on Freo @ $2.30

5. We place our bets...
6. Tabulate our winnings after each round and so on...

I was thinking that there could be a bonus of so many $$$$ ($100? $250? $500?) for the punter with the most winnings in each individual week. What do people think?

Man with the most cash at the end of the season wins the prestige of being supreme punter
