Jamie Tape Dies...

Ex Richmond, Woodville-West Torrens and South Australia origin player Jamie Tape who survived a battle with cancer has died of a heart attack.

I don't know many other details, I just saw it on a news update.

Well after hearing about Bayern defender Sami Kuffour's tragedy this has really made my day... :depress:

Condolences to his family. RIP Jamie.

"They picked on the wrong man - and the wrong country. It was like pouring petrol onto a fire as far as I was concerned.

There's an old saying that the dog that barks loudest never bites. They did a lot of barking but we bit them pretty hard. Uruguay's attitude just showed how scared they were of us - it was their last resort."

- Vincenzo Grella, Parma & Australia.

While Kuffour and his family were holidaying in his native Ghana for the current Bundesliga winterbreak, his 2yo daughter drowned in a pool accident a day or two ago.

RIP tapey

man this really cut me up, I loved that guy.

As a player he stepped out of the SANFL as a ready made AFL player and with matty rogers (another south aussie) was one of the main factors we had such a blazing 1995. Unfortunately due to our lack of key possi defenders, tape a well built medium sized defender bulked up too much, lost his speed and elasticity and his spot on our list.

He leaves behind a wife and a young daughter

I hope richmond honours his memory in rnd 1
