Should the AFL reconsider increasing the list's again?

I know this is another silly Topic anyhow I enjoy reading the opinions of you guys,I was wondering would it be possible to increase the number of players on lists again to give sides more freedom especially in difficult seasons with injuries.

sometimes when a side gets a horror run of injuries they are left with 23 or 24 players to choose their side from!!!!! thats just horsesh!t!

lists need to be increased to abt 40 minimum!! preferably 42

38 is adequate
but each club should have 10 rookies who are allowed to be interchanged when a squad member is injured or suspended even for a week. The rookie shall only be allowed to be a rookie at the club for 2 seasons & be under the age of 21.

It was a mid-season trading period during the mid-season break he suggested - no split-round next year.

I like it although it's a tad dodgy for the players who wouldn't want to uproot unless they were completely frozen out of the first 22 and were desperate for action - although would these disaffected players who were eager to move be assured of regular footy elsewhere anyway?

You could also see a situation where a snotty-nosed brat who got picked up by West Coast or Adelaide in the November Draft could have his agent pushing for a move back home to Sydney or Melbourne after just half a season at the club.

No problems there dt, just get the AFL to change the rules a little regarding player contracts.... all players must play abt 80% of their contract i.e if they sign for 4 years, then they are stuck there for at least 3.
Now wouldnt that make Trade Week interesting !!??

Then you'd have all sorts of restraint of trade/contract law problems wouldn't you? (I've no idea in regards to business law).

Couldn't agree more. The list should be 38 or maybe 40, but include about 10 or so rookies that can replace injured players during the year. I don't like the idea of having a mid-season trade week, and also if you have more players on the list then that would just mean more salaray cap pressure. I think St. Kilda got to the stage where they had only 23 fit players for a match.

BTW, a quick one. What are the two best things to come out of Australian sport?

A South Australian and a horse!

(Don Bradman and Phar Lap)

I don't know which one deserves more respect? A south Australian or a horse!

Yeah Bradman is a New South Welshman but lived the majority of his life in South Australia.

Phar Lap is a kiwi.
