Some HUGE trades! out of the blue

Woewodin goes to the pies
Heffernan goes to the Dees
Caracella goes to Brsibane
Blumfield to richmond
Leigh brown to the kangas
Luke Penny to the saints
Pickett to the power
Davis to the swans

Essendon let go a trio of class midfielders, theyve paid the price of success, they had to unload cap pressure, they were raped, dont u just love it

and they said it was going to be the quietest trade period in years I cant remeber so many shocks

:blowsload: Ronnie Burns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We snagged Ronnie Burns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :blowsload:

Imagine him (hammy willing) crumbing around Carey and Burton with the ball delivered in by McLeod, Ricciuto and Goodwin?!!

We've just developed a 15-20 goal forward-line.

Holy sh1t TT - Kane Johnson and Justin Blumfield for practically nothing!

This is gggggggggggggggggggreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaat

I dont wanna put a dampener on it DT , I reckon Burns is at the crossroads and purely was mud for the last season.

Anyone can rot at Geelong ...

He kicked 50 goals as a crumbing forward a couple of seasons ago. Get him crumbing off Burton and Carey with our midfield giving him the ball and anything can happen.

He's great mates with Andrew McLeod from their NT days and has a rapport with Gary Ayres - the world is his oyster if the hammy stays right.

Happy with the Headland, Haselby, Bell midfield?

Tiges , I gotta ask you something !!!

Now surely you mustve asked yourself the same thing. You's let Torney go cause you's couldnt afford him in the salary cap , so how the hell are Johnson & Blumfield gonna fit ???

put it down to the gr8 man Miller couts, he knows all

Richo took a decent pay cut, abt 200 gees worth
matty knights retired
and torney was delisted b/c its obvious we were opening up room in the cap for a class midfielder possibly 2 with the uncontracted players draft....

We needed 2 or 3 CLASS midfielders to improve us and by the fu(k I cant believe it weve somehow landed them!! Im excited!!

There was one loser in the trade period the bombers, every1 else got something they liked, its good 2 see clubs giving up quality to get quality

dt ur right ronnie burns could be a godsend,

couts u got ure lovechild u lost leigh brown but kept croad, the teams ready for a serious finals assault now mate

quote the great man via www.theage.com.au
"Football operations manager Greg Miller yesterday baulked at suggestions that the club might be struggling to stay within the salary cap but said it might consider a shorter list next season. "We can control our TPP (total player payments) and we know what we have to do and it'll come out in the wash, I guess, with Justin (Blumfield) that the deal we've done is very very reasonable."

It is believed that Essendon will pay a portion of Blumfield's salary. Miller said the Tigers' list for 2003, which is expected to be finalised in the next six weeks, will at most contain 36 players and one veteran, as was the case this year."

Hmmmmm very true Im very bamboozled Torney goes and a probably even higher wage earner in Johnson and Blumfield I'll have to see the figures on this one.Well what of Freo Dessie,Pavlich,Croad,Hasleby,Longmuir,Bell,Farmer to name a few looks good for the Dockers and the Crows if Footy Park was chockers before I gotta see now with the King and Magical Ronnie in the Side.
Perhaps Burns will discover his best footy after all Clint Bizzell seems to have been rejuvenated at melbourne.

Melbourne didn't really do great in the Trade Week. We lost Woewodin but given his inconsitant form he is no big loss. We signed Heffernan and maybe a new club will rejuvinate this premiership midfielder. We also got an extra draft pick in the top 20 so that should give us another youngstar!

Hopefully another down year is on the cards for the Dees and we can stay up there. I am already excited...

...but it's still October!
