Teams: Australia & Newcastle United
Australia 65 - 58 Ireland
I stayed up and watched the match last night while I was completing a Cold War essay ...
Apart from the fights and the action that leads to goals/unders (whatever they're called) the game was sh1t.
Kellaway played a stormer in goal and looked better than SOS did when he kept a few series ago and Chris Johnson, Nathan Brown and Matthew Pavlich were brilliant.
I tell you what though, for action and actual 'wow factor' I would've prefered watching an old Bears - Fitzroy game at Carrara circa 1988.
Mickan, handballs to Gastev ... run down by Zanotti! Magic.
"They picked on the wrong man - and the wrong country. It was like pouring petrol onto a fire as far as I was concerned.
There's an old saying that the dog that barks loudest never bites. They did a lot of barking but we bit them pretty hard. Uruguay's attitude just showed how scared they were of us - it was their last resort."
- Vincenzo Grella, Parma & Australia.
