OT but kind of not - AFL 2003 for PS2 ...

I bought it when I got my PS2 a couple of weeks ago and it's quite good although you can't snap or checkside punt - just drop-punts and there is no seasonal stat-tracking or Brownlow Medal, etc when you play a season ...

Anyone else here played it or got it?

One of my mates came around today and we had a few games ... we were talking about the game and we said how good it would be if the makers (Acclaim I think) utilised the power of the DVD and added the SANFL, VFL and WAFL as playable leagues as well as 'all-time teams' like Hawthorn 83-89, Essendon 84-85 and Carlton 95, etc etc ...

I mean if the FIFA games can have 15+ leagues and 100 national teams then surely an AFL game could have this ...

AFL Live 2003

I've got it! I've got it!

But it's nothing to get excited over. Like dyertribe said, all you do is basically play. There are no interesting stats and figures, no Brownlow Medal, no votes of any sort, it doesn't even keep track of how many goals you've kicked. Pretty disappointing in that part of the game

But otherwise the gameplay is alright. There is too much room for luck though. Like you don't really decide who wins the centre clearances or marks or even goals, the game decides that. Alll you do is hope that the game is on your side.

Man no wonder Nintendo cancelled it when they heard about that **** But given Nintendo of Australias sponsorship with the AFL I am very surprised it was cancelled.
