Collingwood - Adelaide

Well done to the Pies, but I tell you what - I hope Jason Cloke gets rubbed out and misses next week for that disgusting roundhouse punch that took Tyson Edwards out of the game and Peter Daicos chokes on his tonsils for defending the thug.

He was a good 3 steps behind Edwards and had no chance of getting anywhere near the ball - he then swings his arm around and takes Edwards out of the game. Brave ... very brave.

And f*ck the AFL for for giving us:

An away Showdown vs Port Adelaide
An away game against Freo
An away game against Brisbane*
A 'home' game against Melbourne at the MCG
An away game against Collingwood*

*Couldn't be helped.

And then everyone talks about how the travel would catch up with us - gee I wonder why?

"They picked on the wrong man - and the wrong country. It was like pouring petrol onto a fire as far as I was concerned.

There's an old saying that the dog that barks loudest never bites. They did a lot of barking but we bit them pretty hard. Uruguay's attitude just showed how scared they were of us - it was their last resort."

Couldn't agree with you more.

But you have to wonder why the AFL has sent us to WA in Round 22 in three of the past five seasons (1998, 2001, 2002). Hardly an ideal preparation going into the finals.

The 'home' semi-final against Melbourne was purely the AFL's choice as well - not affected by the contractual agreements.

If the finals went to round robin
say Group 1 was Teams 1-3-5-7 & group 2 was Teams 2-4-6-7 with each team playing each other once with the highest ranked team with the HG advantage there would be no problem !!
Its the fairest system , there will always be a final in Melbourne & it still goes the 4 weeks & the AFL will get more $$$$ cause there are more games !!
