Paul Licuria Take A Bow ...

Licuria amassed a staggering 40 possessions – made up of 23 kicks and 17 handballs – plus 7 marks, 5 tackles and 8 clearances in the Pies’ 16.12 (108) to 14.11 (95) win at AAMI Stadium

Is it one of the greatest individual games ever?

Nathan who?

"They picked on the wrong man - and the wrong country. It was like pouring petrol onto a fire as far as I was concerned.

There's an old saying that the dog that barks loudest never bites. They did a lot of barking but we bit them pretty hard. Uruguay's attitude just showed how scared they were of us - it was their last resort."

I was talking about the individual performance - I'm not saying he's a Voss, Aker or McLeod by any means.

The fact is he as a midfielder put his hand up against the second-favourite for the Brownlow and not only shut him down, but amassed the stats I posted previously. And all this without his captain and fellow midfielder Buckley.

Collingwood won by 2 goals - if Licuria didn't play the way he did they would've gone down by 5.

Incidentally he won the Copeland Trophy last season
