"Kel" and "Dunks" sent out in style.. Roos for Swans coach....

Yes and how appropriate that it was against Tigertuff's tigers at Stadium Australia (i refuse to refer to it by its corporate name , especially that bastard of a comany :fero: :irritate: )

I was 3 of the 4 quarters (felt tired and slept through the 2nd quarter) and while it wasn't technically the best game at times, it was a good hard contest and to be honest the Swannies should have won by more (Barry Hall hit the post twice!! :eekani: and their were 5 shots that hit the post in all :rollani:, 4 from the Swans )

Anyway Kelly and Dunkley both had solid games (as usual) and i think it was the best possible way for them to go out as both have been great servants of the club

I stand by my comments regarding Roos and i think many Sydneysiders would share this view and i think most of the banners at the stadium support this (some were quite funny actually ). I know you might have said the Swans were playing on emotion tiger and that was probably more the case tonight but IMO if this was the case then that effect would have worn off already (like after the first game)

I think the other things that should favour Roos are his tendency to give youth a go and introducing a more free flowing, attacking style of play that enables goals to come from sources other than big Barry Hall (i think Eade played too much these days and this was mroe of a legacy of the Lockett era i thikn, as great a goalkicker as he was). These are just my observations (and those of the pundits) but i am no expeer on the tactics of AFL so hey what do i know

Anyway that is my ramble and i don't know what made me feel compelled to write all this crap. Actually i watched last nights game between Geelong and Hawthorn as well (two games in two days :eekani: -------- don't tell me i am becoming a convert)

p.s i also enjoyed the reception that Stafford got everytime he got the ball :dielaugh:

Andreas, are you referring to the same bastard of a company that more often than not sees you paying more in service charges than actual call costs each month?

If so I agree with you

I don't know if Paul Roos will get the job ... Like I said on another thread, Paul Roos in charge of the Swans reminds me of Roger Merrett in charge of the Bears for some reason.

"They picked on the wrong man - and the wrong country. It was like pouring petrol onto a fire as far as I was concerned.

There's an old saying that the dog that barks loudest never bites. They did a lot of barking but we bit them pretty hard. Uruguay's attitude just showed how scared they were of us - it was their last resort."

I got nothing against roosy, I was a big fan of him as a player and he seems he may have a nack for the coachin gig too....

abt the emotion thing, in 1997 we sacked Walls after a 137 point drubbing at the hands of dt's tribe and our interim coach Jeff Gieschen took over and we won our next 5 games straight to finish the year, playing attacking uninhibited footy rolling ladder leaders the doggies and pumping port by abt 90 points........and the fans were baying for blood if the giesch didnt get the job, well 2 years later he got the arse.

emotion can rule for weeks, its in the pre-season where things simmer down....anyway thats just my opinion and perhaps he should get a go, Wallace doesnt even want the gig anyway, hes just rebuilt the doggies and they are primed to make the finals from next year on, it doesnt make sense to leave them right now on the edge of a potential golden era to go rebuild another side for 2 at least the next 2 years?

One thing, if u want attacking freeflowing enterprising footy with young 1st and 2nd year kids playing get ureself some tapes of wallaces doggies this season andreas, Im sure more than ure eyebrows would raise at what hes done in 2 years of complete rebuilding
