www.afl.com.au is the Official site

But a lot of people have to actually watch the game plenty of times over to actually understand it, as an explanation on paper can still be very confusing.

to play Australian Football, or if u like Aussie Rules, or Footy, 1st of all u need a football made by an Australian, and a golf club
than all u need to do is to hit the ball pass between 2 polls with the club in as least shots as possible, the team with the most goals and least amoung of shots win:dielaugh:

dont mind him,

The game consists of 4 quarters, they usually go for abt 30 mins each, give or take a few minutes.

The aim is to kick a higher score than the other team, u do this by kicking more goals through the big sticks (each goal is worth 6 points) if the ball goes through the big and small stick, its only 1 point.

The ball is moved very quickly by players either kicking it, handballing it or running with it (in this case they have to bounce the ball before every 15 metres travelled). Some of the great goals are when a player gets the ball in defence and streams forward 100 metres dodging players and then finishes it off with a goal from 50 metres out.

If a player passes the ball to a teammate and he catches the ball (provided its gone further than 15 metres) then this is called a mark and that player cannot be retarded by the opposirtion, he can take his time to either shoot for goal or pick out another teammate, he also has the option of playing on if he feels its in his best interests.

A handball is like a throw except the ball must be punched, never thrown, it is always play on if this is used, the handball has changed football making it a lot faster and slicker, with teammates always streaming by the player with the ball to receive it by hand before kicking it.

They are the basics.........

Eren3, are you Wayne Brittain?

"They picked on the wrong man - and the wrong country. It was like pouring petrol onto a fire as far as I was concerned.

There's an old saying that the dog that barks loudest never bites. They did a lot of barking but we bit them pretty hard. Uruguay's attitude just showed how scared they were of us - it was their last resort."
