Dockers & Eagles

the dockers, and the eagles
we all know that the Dockers are better than the Eagles
but are they good enough to make the eight?
do they deserve to be in the eight?
well my answer to both those questions is yes
if the eagles are in the eight, why shouldn't the dockers be there too.

but the top eight ain't big enough for these two teams
and only one can have a spot in the top eight
so who will it be? , who do u think deserves it more?

They both can't win away from WA which is a concern ...

I don't rate the Eagles at all, but Freo have promise and potential ... although the Dockers will miss again this year I'm afraid ...

Quite frankly, if Hawthorn and Essendon are still outside the eight come September I'll be very surprised.

I'd like to think the Dockers are better than the Eagles, but quite frankly, that theory does not work. Dockers suck penis big time. The Eagles rock, and I will even go as far to say as don't write off a premiership. The Eagles will make the GF in the next 5 years I can see it.

i don't know about the eagles though, in 5 years time they'll probably be the number 2 team in WA

No they won't and I'll tell you why.

West Coast are to lose Matera, Jakovich, Wilson & McIntosh in the next season or two so there goes half their gun names.

Secondly, the Eagles can't win across the road let alone across state borders ...

Thirdly, the only reason West Coast has the 2 Premierships they have is because they took the cream of the WAFL when Western Australia had some of the best players in the land.

If South Australia had entered a team in 1987 it would be put down your glasses stuff ...

Yeah if they could take that form across the border they'd be a force ... I can't work em out ...

They can fix up Essendon, Hawthorn, West Coast in Perth but get beaten by Sydney and Saints away ...

Once they sort it out they should do OK.

Kenny you obviously have not noticed the young Eagles brigade this year, Judd (only what 19 and already a superstar), Kerr, and the list goes on, and don't forget Wirrpunda who still has probably at least 5 good years left.

Wilson leaving within two years? Don't think so, despite his age, he might play to 34-35 if he wants, and he certainly has the ability to.

Up the Dockers and Eagles!

That's not WA's fault is it dyertribe?

And you're talking about if SA entered a team in 1987 they would have won well they would have got their players from the local SANFL wouldn't they?

KI, you misinterpret my point ...

West Coast were the only interstate entry who had the option of the absolute cream of their state league. No other interstate team had this luxury, and West Coast's initial 1987 list and resulting pickups in following seasons as an established club basically gifted them the two premierships in 92 and 94 and that magnificent unbroken successive finals run.

Since players from that initial entry have retired the Eagles have been sh1thouse - my point was that if WCE didn't have the luxury of that initial talent then they'd be in the same boat as the Dockers.

Re my 1987 SA team call - if the Crows or other enitity had come in at the same time as WCE and the Bears there would be no contest. Players such as Kernahan, Naley, Antrobus, Mickan, Williams, Platten, Hall, Bradley, etc could've all been lured back to play alongside the Jarmans, McDermott, McGuinness, Hodges, etc - not to mention the fact that guys like Wanganeen may never have left for interstate in the following years as the team would've already been established, and would've more than likely had at least a flag or two or three.

Everyone is baffled by Freo's form !!!

Lions at home & Lambs away. I feel come next season they should be a bit more consistent as a player group they are still young and the more they travel the better they will become I hope.

about the draft this year Tiges........ the word is most clubs are will to trade early draft picks for ready made players. A very thin draftindeed.

Aherad there is a guy in Melbourne & a young kid called Daniel Wells from here , & they are still 2 years away cause there bodies are too small

Yeah Ive heard that 2 couts, but regardless of how thin any draft is, the first 5 let alone 10 picks are usually a good bet to be top drawer, and if things work out, us and the poor ol blue baggers will get the 1st 4 picks, not to mention the players coming out of contract in the other draft.

If I 2 priority picks you know how I'd use them ???

Give them both to Brisbane for Des Headland !!! This Kid is showing why he was a #1 pick. & once Richmond get them they can get quality players and I am talking 2 quality playersfrom WCE or Freo for him ( Dockers will be reluctant but they will give Toia, Norrish & McManus & a draft pick for him )
