TAC, crazy !

I dont get the crap, he was caught drink driving, ok, wow, maybe a little fine or something. But him getting the sack and a ban from training is an absolute load of fukn sh!t, what the hell has happened to these dikheads. And what, they wanna stop the sponsorship !!! I believe that if anyone was gonna get something like this, it shouldve been Brendan Fevola and Matthew Lappin, this is totally crazy ! What has happened to common sense !!
This shoulve been private, and I believe the clubs have nothing to do with the players life outside, I dont get it why the clubs ban the players from doing private things, they go to Mt Bulla but they cannot ski The cubs should stick to their own sh!t and let the players get on with their lives. The players hsould only be comitted to training and playing, far out, its like the players went back to school.

These players are playing at the highest possible level. Private life or not, they have a responsibility to their club and more importantly to their supporters. Like it or not, footballers are always in the public eye, they are idolised by the millions, and thus must provide a good role model to the community. Drink-driving.... ok so thousands have been busted doing this. But to see a footballer doing this (especially after deciding to drive just 400 metres to his place how stupid can you be... just catch a cab!!) is NOT a good message to send out to the younger community. Its basically saying that its alright to drink and drive coz im a footballer and i can do it so you should do it too.

IMO, he got what he deserved. How would the public react if he had actually killed someone while driving under the influence???

He was only 400 metres from his home !!!! what a lazy sh!t !!!!!!!
He should be sacked !! He has put his clubs major sponsorship at risk and has Richmond got a drinking Culture ???
Some issues have to be adressed here !!!

BTW tigerTUFF - I can report to you Darren Gaspar did celebrate his NYE in Fremantle at the Leftbank that is a pub !!!

But dont worry I only saw him drink water or was it straight Vodka ???

I agree with christian on this one, I'll be one very unimpressed chap if he gets the boot, (he wont)

so what big deal, couts and pao us 3 are of similar age so we more or less watched footy around the same time, the 80's was the last of a dying breed, the thug! and there were plenty of em who werent role models for us and we turned out aiight!! Its blown out of proportion this role model thing,.....

He did a stupid thing (walk home you di(khead!) but dont ruin his career, even this one mnth suspension with the threat of further action hanging over his head is I feel too harsh.

if it was only Vodka THEN THATS OK, I saw the boys out one night in the off season before the season that just passed and they were smoking!

Sorry blokes, gotta disagree with ya's

Drink-driving these days is a real serious offence (more so than in the 80's, when it was 'cool' to do so ) Would your thoughts abt this be different if he had killed some1 on the way home while under the influence? Imagine the outcry then if that did happen!! And 0.147 isnt exactly a few coldies at the local either

As for the melees, that's why the AFL decided to bring in this melee rule, to try to stop these 'moments of bliss' (yes, i love a good melee ). Any1 gets caught in a melee, they get d!cked (be it fines or whatever). This guy got caught drink-driving, he should expect whats coming to him. If i got busted, id lose my licence and thus lose my job. If tigerTUFF got busted and killed some1 while under the influence, he'd go to jail and lose his job also. It can happen to any of us. Just because he is a footballer doesnt mean he should be treated any differently. He is in the public eye, ppl know him, and pay to watch him and his team play, like it or not he is classed as a role model.

I doubt he'd get the sack Christian (he could have grounds for unfair dismissal ). But then again there may be something in his contract that allows the club to axe him if he damages the clubs image or something along those lines (who knows whats in players contracts these days, it seems so f*ckin complicated).
