Geelong will use the upcoming draft to gain ex-Cat and former Hawk Aaron Lord, who has been training with the Cats since he got delisted from Hawthorn.

Thats about all the rumours ive heard so far.... oh yeah almost forgot, 'Diamond' Joe Gutnick who is running again for the Melbourne presidency is once again behind the eight ball so to speak. Rumours are that the members wont vote for him as the clubs current financial situation is diabolical to say the least. Even though he has pumped about 3 million into the club out of his own pocket since 1997, the Demons are now back into the 'red', and members are now beginning to ask just how the club has lost so much money. Many believe that if Gutnick is voted back in, then the chances of the club losing even more money are very high (especially now that Joe has said he will not invest more money into the coffers). A tough decision for these members... show faith and graditude to the man who helped save the once mighty Dees, or bite the bullet and go for a new, untried board in the hope that the change of guard might change the clubs fortunes! Good luck Melbourne, you're gonna need it!!

Big day for football 2moro.....

Firstly, the draft is scheduled to be held. And i stress scheduled, coz if Freo get their way with a court injunction, there will be no draft. If it does go ahead, Plugger will grab all the headlines for sure... it will be interesting to see what happens if another club other than Sydney snap him up

Secondly, the Melbourne Demons AGM/Board election. Rumours have it that Diamond Joe Gutnick should not even bother turning up, as the proxy votes indicate that he has already lost the battle. Only 6000 odd Demons members are expected to show up (from a membership list of 18,000!!). But knowing the Dee's, anything can happen.

Its going to be a huge day for football

Wayne 'King' Carey still yet to sign a new contract with the Kangaroos. Its believed that the King is awaiting on developments concerning the 'Roos coach Dennis Pagan, who is contracted until 2002, and who is currently undergoing contract extensions.

Also, Collingwood has revealed that as of 2003 they will move their admin offices to the newly renovated vacilities at the Glasshouse. This means that Victoria Park, their spiritual home of 103 years, will be cease to be. The Glasshouse will provide the Magpies with state of the art facilities, including gymnasium, swimming pools, and admin offices.

Collingwood also managed to get Scott Cummings from the national draft. Cummings was very lucky to get picked, his career looked over.

Drafted when COUTO?
Coz i heard he will step out of AFL for a year and play in the WAFL, then place himself in the draft at the end of next season. Which to me means that Francis is finished as an AFL footballer, as im sure that Freo 1. Wouldnt be able to fit him under the salary cap & 2. There will be some1 better than him available for Freo to draft.

New skipper for the Demons?????

Rumours have it that a youngster amongst the Melbourne ranks will soon be given the captains armband for next season... odds are he is non other than Brownlow medalist Shane Woewodin....

And in other news, Shane Crawford and Mark Graham have been awarded lifetime memberships at Hawthorn, following their 10 years service at the club

Yeah the news is that Fabian Francis will play for WAFL club South Fremantle next season, and he may be wearing a Freo jumper in 2003.

I can guarentee the Fremantle Dockers will at the end of the year free 1 million dollars of the salary cap !!

These players will be axed
Brendon Fewster $250,000
Daniel Metropolis $300,000
Sean McManus $ 350,000
Luke Toia $200,000

These players havent warranted this money & will give way to young talent !!!!

Whats the news there Anthony? Adelaide offered him big money for him to go back there, but I didn't hear much after that. I hope he stays.

Well KI , Adelaide is moving heaven & earth toi get Big Pav back to his home , Adelaide being his home !! . We are just grateful we signed him for 3 years and not 2 Next season we will be in a position ( thank god those 4 donkeys will be gone ) to atleast offer him a half million a season which Adelaide would be hard pressed to do and if push comes to shove we could probably up that aswell !!! 1.1 million a year is a lot of money and this will be the key too keep Pavlich & get Francis and for a few rookies comfortably
