Plugger is Back ????

What do you guys think , Tony Lockett coming out of retirement to Play for Sydney !! The champ says he is back ( IMO he will kick arse ) but I have a sneaking suspicion St.Kilda( they have 2nd , Freo already have snared Fabian Francis ) may take him with the pick they have in the Preseason draft - Remember he is eligible aswell for the veterens list at Moorabbin !!

I just cant see Plugger doing another pre-season.... how long do you think it will take him to get up to fitness? Especially after 'pigging' out for a couple of years with Fatty Vaughton

However, if he was to make a comeback, i dont think he will be picked up by Sydney nor St.Kilda.... id put my money on West Coast snapping him up. Full-forwards are hard to come by......

My mum used to love Plugga. Everytime he took a mark or kicked a goal the roof of our house would almost be ripped off.

I used to hate Plugger coz he was always competing against Jason Dunstall for the Coleman Medal

But i got to like him when he moved to the Swans... remember in the early 90's when some1 let the pig loose on the SCG with Plugger & 4 written on it? Kinda ironic that he would be kicking goals there a few years later hey!!

Plugger was my hero in my younger days . He was a champion & who can ever forget in that game whan St.Kilda beat Carlton by 4 points and Plugger kicked 10 against 2 direct opponents !!!

Yeah, he seems to back alright... for the draft anyway

Plugger has said that he will do the pre-season and see how he pulls up... if he feels like playing he will, if he doesnt reach the fitness level he wants by Feb, then he wont.

Which brings me to my next point. Now, Plugger has said that he will only play if he gets drafted by Sydney. So if Geelong (who have a pick prior to Sydney) draft him then he wont play. Doesnt that contradict with the rules set down by the AFL in regards to drafting? For example, if a young 17 y.o. kid says that he wont play for any1 else other than Carlton, then he is in breach of AFL rules and subsequently will not be eligible to be drafted. Isnt this the same situation with Plugger?

Yeah what's that young guy's name? Matthew Smith? He won't hand over the number 4 to Plugga, and Sydeny backs the decision, they are certainly not doing him any favours.

Good on Sydney for backing young Matthews decision

Who cares what number Plugger wears.... 46 was the number that his father wore for 500 odd games with North Ballarat... besides, its better that a young player who is a potential captain for the club to have the no. 4 , it could be a good omen for him
