Go on Pagan give it to the sooks.

I was reading all over the papers that apparently carlton Coach denis Pagan treats the Carlton players to harsh in his Training methods.
Well all I have to say is what are these sooks whingeing for they expect to be paid and train when they like well why dont they just PI$$ OFF.Players are seeming to think that theyre in charge and because under former coaches brittain and Parkin things were easier these whingers seem to be scared to put in the hard yards.

this was the problem with the younger players under britts.

Parkin was a coach who had control over his players. the players respected him and also feared him as well. no on would fuk with Parkin.

Britts, also a very good coach in my opinion. an very good tactician who could bring the best out of his good players. however, he was a mate to the players. he grew up with those players through reserves etc...and this allowed certain young players such as fevola and Lappin last year to go to Bridie O'Rielly's there on sydney road and get pissed etc...

So, with Pagan, he has brought discipline and fear back into the players. And when you lose by 116 points, you cant tell your players, "hey, nevermind, there is always next week". i'm totally pissed about Lance doing his knee at training etc...but lets face it, you have make sure that you dont ever lose by that margin again.

i think many players, eg. Manton are complaining because they are not getting a senior game. i for one feel that Manton is lucky to be playing reserves and he shouldnt be criticising Pagan on radio late at night just because Mick Martyn is in his place.

i hate MM as much as Manton, i think they are both past it now, but that doesnt merit criticism of the coach which makes it ammunition for the media to prolong the Carlton troubles in newspapers and tv.

the media just link everything together thinking that hickmott retired because he hates pagan, which inturn came from lance doing his knee, hence, pagan shouldnt have trained them that hard, which in turn gave Manton his chance to criticise pagan and get back in the lime light which in turn becomes more troubles down at optus oval.

so, i do believe that the media is having a feast with carlton at the moment. And lots of stuff you read about isnt just blown out of proportion.

on 7 news the other night, they said that Lance Whitnall, Camporeale and Beaumont could all be up for trades next season.

if this is the case, i think the doors will be shut at Carlton as it will be officially over for the Blues.

when sammy said that, i think he was referring to the likes of Manton, Allan, MM, Franchina, Fletcher, Murphy, the players who currently dont have anything to offer in the future. although i still think murphy could give us something in the forward line.

well, the thing is Prancing Horse that i think the young players such as angwin, beasy, houlihan, waite, fisher, wiggins, sporn, norman, thorntan, Davies, McCormick have all given something this season to suggest that they have what it takes to become good players.

the problem is that its players such as Murphy, MM, allan, fletcher, franchina to name a few who have a lot more experience than the ones already mentioned and basically are not doing anything at all. You can even put the likes of Manton and Merrington in the group of swap deals.

but with the likes of Simpson and Campbell who will be regular senior players soon, they'll also give us a future.

so what we do need it the likes of Lance, Campo and Beaumont. they are experienced players and Campo has done fairly well this season. i think many just give him too much shit for no reason. And let Lance get fit etc...Pagan uses him wrong IMO and even watching him play in defence sometimes can be an excuse for him not playing like he did back in 98 and 99.

we must rebuild, but still have the structure at the club. we cant rebuild a team and just expect to do well without any experience.

yeah, we'll be okay in a few years. i just think we'll struggle due to not having draft picks now. because when campo, kouta and a few others retire, we havent got players fomr the draft to replace them when playing a few seaosns in reserves.

i suppose what carlton has to do is really think about their swaps at the end of the season. instead of considering big names such as Nathan Brown, we should try to swap a murphy for maybe two younger players, so it keeps us good in terms of depth and numbers at the club when our current older players retire.
