Blues win their first!

well, after round 1, i seriously thought that my beloved blues were in for a horrid season. Pagan's tactics etc..just didnt suit carlton.

Round 2 saw Pagan change the tactics around and the players reacted positively to them. we really did well against collingwood but lacked that extra tall man in defence which always costed us a goal.

Last night saw Carlton really take it up to the bombers!! the young players in waite, thornton, sporn, fisher played very well and showed that they have something to offer this club.

Fevola is in fine form and i guess he is going to be a major player for us this season and for the future.

overall, without Rats who is important to carlton in those kind of conditions, we played well. we had no McKernan either who has been instrumental for us since he arrived at the club.

it was great for our players and it makes us 1-2 for the season.

just some further things to add. Carlton has these players to also come in....whether they do or not is up to the coach obvisously.

Martyn- although he is old, he has experience and is tall and strong. we might need him.

Livingston- he is a must, played as full back all last season and i believe if he and martyn return, at least beaumont can return to half back and give us extra run from that defence. and that would put Lappin back in the forward line where we need him.

Fletcher- good versitile player with some experience. defence or wing, even in the middle at times.

Freeborne- not the greatest with skills, but a good player to tag. would be a better option that franchina who is a stupid player giving away free-kicks in defence.

rats and mckernan-obvious reasons

Allan- great ruck man, but will we be able to have corey, french and allan in the team? french can play as centre half back i suppose as he did for Port for a while. Corey can be a full forward but will that disrupt Fevola's fine season thus far?

i would seriously love to delist Franchina...he is hopeless. i would rather freeborne, davies, fletcher getting a go.

so, what are your thoughts......not sure who is a carlton supporter here, but everyones thoughts would be good. as long as they know what they are on about with the players etc....

Great win, especially over the Bombers.

I was sitting on the edge of my seat until my mum rang me with 5 minutes to go and told me that Carlton won!
