NBA Playoffs

Yeah we've got a thread for the season already but I thought we'd have a thread for the playoffs themselves which promise to be epic.

In the East, we've got -

Toronto v Washington
Boston v Milwaukee
Cleveland v Indiana
Philadelphia v Miami

West

Spurs v Warriors... how bad is Curry's injury?

Jazz v Portland are still playing.

Minnesota made the playoffs for the first time since the KG era.

Thoughts on potential upsets?

For the first time in a long time it seems like its a pretty good playoff set. A lot of talented players and good teams in this one. I don't think we'll see any boring sweeps in the first round anymore. Toronto-Washington, maybe 6 games in Toronto's favor. Cleveland-Indiana, difficult to predict this one Indiana is a strange team this season they did better than expected with Oladipo, maybe Cleveland in 7. Philadelphia-Miami I think could go to 7 with Embiid out, but Philly should still come through. Sucks that Kyrie Irving is out, Celtics-Bucks should still be a close one. I think it will go to 7, I'm leaning toward the Bucks even though they haven't impressed me too much this season. This is where I can see an upset most likely happening. In the West, Rockets in probably 6. The Thunder and Jazz is a strange one. I think this will be OKC in 7. Melo being inconsistent doesn't help them and their bench is on/off with their scoring. Portland-New Orleans is a fun one. Amazing back-court vs an amazing front-court. Portland should survive but I think this could go to 7 since Anthony Davis is an amazing player that can probably pull out some difficult wins for NO. Warriors-Spurs lol, I don't know. Not that interested in this series but at the very least it should go to 6 with Curry out. No Leonard kind of sucks, it would have been a different story if the Spurs had him. Probably Warriors in 6, but won't be surprised if this goes to 7.

Whatever happens I think 2018 will be an interesting playoffs compared to the previous seasons. All 16 teams look entertaining.

shiaben I think Embiid is only missing the first match, two matches tops. He was on the sidelines for the Sixers final match against the Bucks, providing support. His face was looking good.

Like Shiaben said these games are going to be hard to predict.

The Timberwolves can give the Warriors a scare without Curry I reckon.

hahah yeah just remembered. Came here to correct myself, but twas beaten.

They could give trouble to the Rockets I guess. Spurs can maybe do something to the Warriors, although I doubt it. Curryless warrios have looked beatable though.

One analyst felt Washington have underperformed this season given the talent in their squad. Maybe they can pull off an upset.

Forgot it was a facial injury. In that case, they can get the job done in 6. Who do you guys think will reach the finals? On paper I feel it would be like a Houston Rockets- Toronto Raptors final. If that were to happen it would seem to be evenly contested. Both teams have star power and a decent bench, especially the Raptors. I would lean toward Houston beating them though in a close series since Kyle Lowry can be inconsistent where as Chris Paul and James Harden have been pretty damn solid. Could easily be a 7 game dream final. I'm curious to see what will happen with the Cleveland Cavaliers. How far they'll go and what will happen with LeBron after. Also curious to see what will happen with OKC with Westbrook and George playing well and putting their all but Melo not contributing as much at all and being detrimental. There's going to be some drama, that's for sure.

I guess it depends on how well John Wall shows up since he's recently came back but also how poorly Kyle Lowry performs. It would have to be a combination of the two. But for some reason even if Lowry isn't having consistent games I think DeRozan's solid form + their amazing deep bench will be enough to get them through. Fred Van Vleet is a solid back-up point guard and the rest of them are great as well.

Hopefully THE CLAW returns just for the first round.

Is Kyrie out? Could see maybe Giannis and Bledsoe doing something against Boston's young team.

Anyway let's go TORONTO (I hear they're really bad in the POs)

Without it gravity is just gravy.

Few bombs from the Raptors, looked like the Wizards were about to tie things up.
