NBA All-Star is lame

NBA All-Star currently become stale.
Old format of West vs East offered no competitiveness.
A new format must be adopted.

Here is an idea... USA vs World
For 2017-18 the team could be like this

Team USA
Anthony Davis
DeMarcus Cousins
DeAndre Jordan
Draymond Green
Kawhi Leonard
Kevin Durant
LeBron James
James Harden
Klay Thompson
Russell Westbrook
Stephen Curry
Chris Paul

Team World
Joel Embiid
Karl-Anthony Towns
Marc Gasol
Rudy Gobert
Kristaps Porzingis
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Andrew Wiggins
Dario Gallinari
Evan Fournier
Nicolas Batum
Goran Dragic
Dennis Schroder

they can't change it...would fck up the historical continuity

who gets voted into the team is far more important than the game itself...I haven't bothered to watch it for a while now, pointless showboating. The most boring event in the entire All Star weekend.

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

Hypothetically, if such game exists, you think who would win the game?
On paper, Team USA is better statistically and they speak a common language.

They need to make it more competetive, I prefer the rising stars challenge due to that. In allstars you see goofy sketch comedy shit like Curry laying on the floor holding his face/covering his ears because Giannis is coming up to dunk.

The events too, I mean not a single allstar ever takes part in dunk contest, LEBRON NEVER HAS IN HIS CAREER. The fragile ego of these players who are too scared to not win is ridicolous. Was also lame how Curry didnt do the 3pt contest due to "fatigue", this is the same contest Larry Bird did so many times because he was an alpha who wanted to show pretenders whos the man at every turn. But nah, not the best players these days.

TBH 3-pointer contest has always had good representation of the best shooters.

with the dunk contest...it's a pretty specific thing, the best players aren't necessarily among the best show dunkers and most of them really have nothing to gain from participating there (but might lose some street cred if they fail)

3pts contest usually does indeed, but kinda weird the times Curry decides not to do it, when he is clearly the GOAT of shooters.

And the dunks you have a point, but Russell Westbrook not doing it yet, or James ever, is ridiculous imo. In general no Allstar ever does basically, and there are few real dunkers amongst them.

To be fair, Slam Dunk Contest was labelled "Rising Stars" Slam Dunk Challenge after it was re-introduced in 2001.
It's more like "Intercontinental" or "Cruiserweight" Championship in WWE.

Three-point contest normally always have the best shooters for the half-season.

the All-Star Game was actually pretty good this year...both teams playing some defense and caring about victory. It was ultimately pretty close, with dumb chucker Harden gifting the win to team LeBron.

the dunk contest was lame IMO...nobody came close to LaVine's or Gordon's performances.

Harden is a goose.

I loved that game. I was torn because of DeMar and Kyle but Kyrie

James is amazing.

Without it gravity is just gravy.
