Who is the 3rd best player in today's NBA?

Heard this question on the Dan Patrick show the other day and it's a pretty good question. The current situation is a lot like the football world with Messi/Ronaldo Durant/LeBron at the top. Who's the next best player after them?

Brook Lopez shouldn't be on that list, he's not in the same class as the other players. His rebounding is average for a big guy. Not saying the other guys don't have weaknesses, but the inability to rebound for a big man is dangerous. He also had problems against Boozer in the playoffs. He's all-star level but not good enough to be the 3rd best player.

For me I think James Harden is the 3rd best player. I can see arguments for the other guys but he's really revitalized the Houston Rockets, he's a balanced player, but for a shooting guard he's having a tremendous impact. Most shooting guards nowadays are role players, but Harden carries the load.

I think the OKC management is one of the greatest. Durant, Harden, and Westbrook, are pretty much a lock for top 5 players.

If Anthony Davis is moved permanently to center, and gets a star power forward, I could see a similar kind of domination that Duncan and Robinson had. If I were New Orleans, I would rebuild around the team with him being a center rather than a power forward. Most of the centers in this league are only used for rebounding/defensive purposes while power forwards are primarily for offensive production You'd get more production from two bigs who can score 20 a night and if they're defensively sound.

For the past few seasons it has been CP3, no doubt about it. Even if there are people who don't want to give him credit. I expect Davis to have this recognition by the next season though.

at the moment I would rate it so:

1. LBJ
2. Durant
3. CP3
4. Love
5. Davis

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? And….it’s the football, that’s the football, something happened. Everything is something happened. - Fatih Terim

Kevin love. D, offense, assists. Most complete and consistent of that list. Paul George surely should be getting on that list

A toss between Kevin Love and Paul George. Love is padding the stats though Minnesota are 3 games behind the 8th seed in the West. George's Indiana has the best record in the league, but he has better teammates in Hibbert and Stephenson.

I think people underrate Tony Parker. I like him more than Chris Paul. He's not flashy but he just gets the job done. I think the only player that gives him serious trouble is Westbrook then again Westbrook is unstoppable for any top tier point guard. But looking past that, Tony Parker is definitely one of the best playoff ready basketball players.

Christopher Emmanuel Paul.

Fourth would probably be Paul George and I'd give Russell Westbrook the nod for fifth despite his injury concerns. Blake Griffin is sixth while Melo has fallen to #7.

Tough debate, but i would go with Paul George, he's only 23 years old, has an all around game, great defender, and makes his team mates better and doesn't seem to shy away from challenge all the makings of a future super super star.

afterwards its a toss up between, Chris Paul, Curry, Melo

**** - this is one tough question

Lazio midfield 1999: ** Nedved - Veron - Simeone - Conceicao

Lazio midfield, 13.12.2009: ** Kolarov - Firmani - Del Nero - Lichtsteiner

On a realistic note, I think Westbrook assuming no injuries are taken into account. I think he's one of the few players in the NBA that are relatively unstoppable, especially against players in his position. Paul George is more top 10 material, I don't rate him top 3 quite yet. Too early.
