He accidentally walked in to the NBA Draft lottery. Nigguh was just looking for the washroom but they put a cap on his head and the rest is history.

well it's true that nobody in the country except for Cleveland front office saw a no. 1 pick in him...most mocks had him between 5th and 8th place.

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? I watched and followed the Cavs quite a lot this season and Bennett definitely has had his fair share of problems (had a shoulder injury and got overweight, also has other health problems like asthma and sleep apnea)...he's not in full fitness but he is also not used well by his teammates. The fact he's often on court with Jarrett Jack who is one of the most selfish PG's in the league ain't helping. and of course Brown is a defensive specialist who might not be the best guy to improve a rookie like him...it definitely doesn't look like they have any idea how to run plays for him. His decision making on the court, however, has been horrible and his shooting (which was supposed to be his main stranght) has been dreadful. At least he seems to be a decent rebounder and defender (his defense was called a question mark after his freshman season at UNLV)

I am also reading not good tings about him. What a shame to waste number 1 pick.

Lazio midfield 1999: ** Nedved - Veron - Simeone - Conceicao

Lazio midfield, 13.12.2009: ** Kolarov - Firmani - Del Nero - Lichtsteiner

I read him a bust back then. I just didn't see what the managers were thinking.

Cleveland must have been living in some kind of fantasy world if they thought he'd be the next LeBron James or even a poor man's version.

They didn't think this obviously...in fact they didn't particularly like anybody in the draft and were actively shopping their #1 pick in the summer but didn't get any decent offers...which of course wasn't surprising given the weakness and unpredictability of the 2013 draft.

Hindsight is always 20/20. The thing is Cavs have a (kinda-sorta) logjam in the backcourt with Irving and Waiters having to split the ball, so it's KIND OF sensible they went for a (biggish) man, although I don't think they were expecting someone who was wider than he was taller. Anyway, they should've taken the Greek Freak if they wanted a good tweener.

I heard they offered Thompson, Waiters and #1 pick to Wolves for Kevin Love in the summer but Minnesota didn't accept the offer.

Anyway, one problem is they're kind of stacked with mediocre players in most positions (except for SF which Bennett can't properly play). And those established pros all want their share of minutes so basically Cleveland is not a good place for a rookie to try and make a breakthrough.

I think Kyrie Irving will eventually leave Cleveland. Whether he'll improve is another question, unfortunately.

I like Cavs for some strange reason so I hope they keep sucking and get lucky on a lottery day. A great SF like Wiggins or Parker would transform this franchise.

Right now he's worse than Kwame Brown and Olowakandi. Worst #1 pick of all time.

I'm usually sceptical when using "lack of confidence" as the reason of a player sucking because usually it is a combination of factors. but in Bennett's case it really seems to be the lack of confidence which is holding him back above all. He is extremely reluctant to handle the ball and even if he occasionally tries to dribble it will turn out awkward and leads nowhere. He suffers from poor decision-making in offense, going for risky outside jumpshots instead of using his body mass to establish post presence or drive to the basket. And he ain't hitting his shots and even manages to blow dunk attempts. The problem is inside his head. He has the skills to be at least an average NBA rotation player but I'm not sure if he manages to do it in Cavs. Maybe he'll get traded in summer.

But yeah, right now he's among the worst overall rookies in the 2013 draft class...in fact his win shares per 48 ( a negative -0.125) is the second worst among all...Peyton Silva having the worst. AB's true win shares (-0.8) is by far the worst among all rookies, proving that he only gets so much playing time because of his draft position.

looked slow and disinterested in setting a pick...although it basically did still work

Casually walks over. Doesn't bother setting himself (if the opponent ran into him, it'd be a foul on Bennett). After the play he continues to move like he's in slow motion instead of trying to take advantage of the mismatch he just created.
