XT TOP 10 Small Forwards of all time

1 - Larry Bird

Great shooter, plays great defence, passes the ball like a point guard, rebounds.Larry the legend is the greatest small forward of all time. He won 3 championships, and 3 straight mvp awards. Him and Magic Johnson rejuvenated the NBA in 1980's.

2 - Lebron James

Just like Michael Jordan was on a planet of his own compared to other players. You can say the same about Lebron James today, his career is far from over yet too. At 28, he already has 2 championships and he will be climbing the rankings further and further over next few years. I see him finishing his career as the best small forward of all time, and possibly alongside jordan the greatest player of all time.

3 - JULIUS Erving

spectacular athleticism and creativity. He won league mvp in 1981, and a title in 1983.

4 - John Havlicek

8 championships, and one of the most underrated scorers ever

5 - Elgin Baylor

He made over 8 finals, and never won once a title. Thanks to celtics dynasty. For 3 seasons he averaged over 34 points per game.He got injured in 2nd half of his career, before lakers won a title in 1972.

6 - Scottie Pippen

One heck of a versatile player.Great defender, and a key player of the bulls six championships. However playing and winning with jordan pushes somewhat underrates and puts him further in rankings.

7 - Rick Barry

He made 90 % of free throws. He averaged 35.6 ppg in his second season, and won a title with the warriors in 1975.

8 - Dominique Wilkins

One of the greatest dunkers in nba history. He won the dunk contest against Michael Jordan in 1985.Averaged more then 25 points per game for 10 seasons, but was a poor 3 point shooter.

9 - James Worthy

The reason why he ranks high is because he always elevated his game when stake was high. In Game 7 of the 1988 NBA Finals, he had 36 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists. Simply Amazing

10 - Alex English

He was a pure scorer, but never had talent around him to win a title.

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? NBA All-Rookie First Team (2004)

The one more thing that is great on larry bird, unlike jordan and isaiah thomas he was pretty much successul in nba as a coach and general manager. He did fantastic job with the pacers ( reached a final as coach i think), plus he has his hand in the current pacers.Whereas jordan with charlotte or washington, and isaiah with new york not been much of success story.

When it comes to the small forward position, LeBron has an opportunity to take Bird's spot. He just needs to get more championships. Very possible.

Bird just won 3 himself. By the end of this year, LeBron will probably have more MVPs and just the same amount of rings.

I hate how the "Who Has More Rings" argument seems to be the be-all end-all for deciding whether one player is better than the other.

LeBron James is the best small forward of all-time. And he didn't even have to go to Miami to prove it. James was so good he took a team whose second best player was Larry "Please Stop Shooting" Hughes to 50 wins and a place in the Finals.

Bird won his three titles flanked by DJ, McHale, Walton, Parish... talk about an All-Star team.

My top SFs (not including anyone pre-1970)
LeBron James
Kevin Durant
Larry Bird
Bernard King
Adrian Dantley
Paul Pierce
Dominique Wilkins
Carmelo Anthony
Rick Barry
Alex English
Scottie Pippen

Lebron James is now first all time in assists when it comes to forwards. He surpassed Scottie Pippen today vs detroit pistons, dishing 11 assists.

6142 assists in total, Pippen with 6135.
