Current Superstars Without A Ring

I was thinking... there are so many superstars in this generation without a ring. I don't know if it's normal, as this is my first generation of basketball, for so many superstars to not have rings. Here is the list --

Dwight Howard
Chris Paul
Carmelo Anthony
Kevin Durant
Russell Westbrook
Deron Williams

Of course, Westbrook and Durant a much younger than the others, but besides those two these guys are in their late 20's which should be their best years. I doubt all of these players will get a ring, or at least not as the main man on their teams.

I dont think there is anything strange with that, probably there were better players not to win it in the past. It is hard who will a ring, I would say Melo probably wont.

most of those players are still young...Jordan won his first ring aged 28.

if anything this era has a more mixed winners list...compare it to Celtics-Lakers domination periods for example...or the 8 years when only Bulls and Rockets won titles. The current six different teams winning titles in the last decade is an exception.

Of that list K Durant will definitely get one sooner or later, he deserves it. If Carmelo steals one too it would be fine, I couldn't care less about the rest !!!

Its a good thing our players in Miami DONT HAVE that problem..

This is normal. Players like Ewing, Stockton, Malone and Barkley never won a ring during the Jordan era and a player like Robinson only won a ring later in his career and past his prime because the Spurs drafted Duncan. Malone nearly won a ring with the Lakers in '04 but they lost to the Pistons and Payton eventually got his ring with the Heat in '06. What will likely happen is that a few from that list will eventually win a ring, but it will be more likely later on in their careers by taking less money and joining up with younger superstar players in their absolute primes like Durant and Rose.

CP3 too IMO. He's a little warrior with a clutch mentality. It would be a shame if he goes without a ring but the Clippers might have a good thing going with Doc coming in. They need to trade Jordan.

I couldn't care less about overrated egomaniacs like Howard.

Deron Williams, Westbrooke, Chris Paul, and Carmelo Anthony are not "Superstars".

Chris Paul, the best point guard in the game, not a superstar? Carmelo, the best pure offensive machine, not a superstar? Williams and Westbrook are debatable, but they are imo because of how well they score, distribute, and in Williams case, is a good leader.

Chris Paul and Melo have been knocked out of the first round so many times, it is ridiculous. That's not Superstar stuff. They don't make their teammates better as much as you think.

Williams a good leader? He's good at getting coaches fired. I'll give u that.

The players I consider superstars in the NBA are Bryant, Durant, James, Howard, Rose and Wade. Anthony, Paul and Williams profile has been boosted because they have moved to big market teams but in reality they are not on the Superstar level. Now is the time for them to show how good they are, especially Paul and Williams. They both have more than enough talent around them, there can be no more excuses.

Chris Paul is without doubt a superstar, his stats are incredible for a PG...he's by far the most underrated of all current players. His WS/48 over the past 6 seasons is almost Jordanesque, only LeBron can be compared to him in this. He massively improves any team he's in and the only people who can't see this are those who imagine that only rings matter...there seems to be a lot of those in these days though.

CP3 is a small guard, small guards can never take the blame for losing. The only small guard to ever win a title as the main guy is Isaiah Thomas, can't blame CP3 for following the pattern of small guards as main guys losing.

Who did Melo have around him in Denver? Then in new York, when he has better talent around him, he actually passes the first round. Surprising, isn't it?

Melo should have stayed in Denver. There was better talent there. The Knicks are made of glass.

Melo did have talent in Denver. Lots of it. Nene, Birdman, Billups, K Mart, JR Smith, Arron Affalo. Ty Lawson later on.

CP3 quite clearly makes his teammates better(and those he leaves worst) - instantly.

Not his fault his supporting cast thus far as been totally average

(And this is if Blake and DeAndre Jordan continue to play like they're used to, it is still average and demands him to play flawless god-mode basketball(which he's actually close to playing in his playoff career) for them to actually make something of it.
