Should Lakers amnesty Kobe?

apparently they would save $60 million in tax obligations in doing so and could easily keep Howard.

from purely basketball sense it would make sense...last season Kobe was the first option in a team where was surrounded by which was believed to be the best supporting cast in the league in 4 other All Stars in the starting lineup. and yet Lakers barely made the playoffs...he'll be 35 next season and coming back from a massive injury so it's not like he's gonna be a realistic central piece to build upon. but of course they don't do it as they don't want to alienate their fanbase and all the Kobetard fanboys all over the world.

Big games are easy than the other games, unfortunately. Every times we have the control the games, under the control the games, during the games we had the some possibilities, some big chances, some big okazyons, something like that but what can I do, sometimes? It should have been dwight howard team this year, the lakers fans media management kobe did well to run him out of town.

If howard leaves, amnestying him is right thing to do.coz lakers will be piss poor next year anyway without howard. They will defo be worst defensive team in league without howard...

but he is a lakers legend, so dont know ...

its out of topic, i watched some houston this year. they are perfect match for howard...

houston relied heavily on asik, and didnt have alternatives to him.very poor defensively, and howard would elevate them in that department. he would give them inside scoring houston didnt have this year..and defence.

In return, howard will be surrounded with alot of 3 point shooters too like orlando.
I think houston would be top 3 in west with howard.

Even better, they should trade him in exchange of a lot of picks and already established players.

I agree from the basketball and business perspective it makes sense, but I honestly think they won`t pursue this path.

Lazio midfield 1999: ** Nedved - Veron - Simeone - Conceicao

Lazio midfield, 13.12.2009: ** Kolarov - Firmani - Del Nero - Lichtsteiner

you can't, only teams under the salary cap can make offers for amnestied players

Lol, Kobe used to play great defence. But this year his defence was absymal, at this age he is anything but the defensive player he once was.

How about. Get rid of both the useless clowns and rebuild the team from scratch? Costs nothing but time.

Considering we've spent about 13 years "rebuilding from scratch", highly doubtful.

Come on now not when you have Mitch Kupchak as your manager. He only goes for proven players/all-stars. When was the last time he drafted a good player from the NBA draft? If teams like OKC can do it so can any other team. It is strictly contingent on a manager that knows what the hell he's doing. Gregg Popovich is testament to that. Took a small franchise team and made them a legacy. Brought them 4 championships.

The Lakers and this goes for big markets as well, need to also put emphasis and attention on draft picks.
