2012 NBA Finals Thread - Oklahoma City Thunder vs Miami Heat

Lets move from the playoffs thread to here. The matchup whole world is waiting for, Kevin durant vs king james. OKC are being tagged as favorites going into this. They didnt face troubles going to finals, bar being down to san antonio 2- 0.On other hand, Miami heat been king of comebacks this playoffs.Always down double digits in a game, come back and win it. And twice they won series by being down in aggregate.

regular season OKC outplayed Miami, but regular season meant nthg last 2 years for miami vs boston & chicago, where we got outplayed in regular season but won them in playoffs.

King James vs Durant - Pretty much all say Lebron is better. Durant is the better shooter, and better player off the ball.Lebron is the better defender, playmaker, as good of a scorer & a more complete package.
The difference will be role players, Wade vs westbrook will another key matchup!

You are right about the filthy owners and the commissioner himself.

Realistically this should be Oklahoma in 4-5 games top given Miami doesn't have a point guard or even a center and their power forward is nothing but a jump shooter who barely even helps clean the boards......

If I haven't stated my prediction. It's the Thunder in 6.

Wade has been nothing like his best this post season, Bosh won't go as hard as he did against Celtics towards the end, Boston didn't respect his game at all and he made them pay, won't be as easy against Ibaka who in contrast to last post season, won his match ups against some of the best PF's in the game like Dirk & Gasol, who are never easy despite form. In saying that, as mature as Oklahoma are playing, the NBA Finals carries even more pressure, experience counts here. They need to move the ball like against the Spurs after 2> and they'll be fine. Turnovers have been remarkable this post season for them after being worst in the league in that regard during the regular.

Wade is playing his knee hurting, Bosh isnt 100 %.They say after indiana game 3, where he scored 5 points only.Wade took cortisone shot..and now its effects wore off.

we will see how he does, but we need him to play consistent 4 quarters. He is always going missing in the first 2.

Durant is more clutch, as he is better shooter.and the best in league in that department.

for that matter, I just read this on him now.

Hilarious (and likely it seems) if Miami fails two years running after the swagger they have had.

OKC will need players their support guys to have big nights like they did against the Spurs. Ibaka and Sefolosha had a couple of big nights against the Spurs which really put OKC over.

Miami Heat Spend Entire Plane Ride To Game 1 Planning Victory Parade

OKLAHOMA CITY—Sources within the Miami Heat organization reported Tuesday that the Eastern Conference champions spent their entire flight to Oklahoma City planning their NBA championship victory parade. "We should each get our own victory float with our own music, and the whole city will come out for the biggest celebration Miami's ever seen," Chris Bosh told his teammates 24 hours before the tipoff for Game 1 of the Finals, as Udonis Haslem eagerly joined in to describe all the beautiful bikini-clad who would be dancing throughout South Beach. "Then when we get to the stage, fireworks go off while we just spray champagne all over. God, I wish it were next week already so we could just start the victory party." Moments before the flight landed at Will Rogers World Airport, head coach Erik Spoelstra demanded his players settle down, be quiet, and focus on how cool it would be if he arrived in a helicopter to deliver the Larry O'Brien Trophy to the rest of the team on a big stage.

Bad game, due to hurting legs. OKC were fresh, while we came up from tough series vs boston. So second half was bad.
But I feel confident with games left.Kinda reminds me of chicago bulls series last year, they blew us in game 1 and there fans jumped of happiness to lose 4 straight :smileani:

On interesting fact is that..OKC are continuing to have explosive 4th quarter.

I mean in order to beat them you have to enter the last quarter with 10 points difference and hope for them not to go insane with their jump shoots.

I mean from the starting 5 to harden and all the bench they are all great shooters.and great in defence or offence respectively. What a great squad

Its been the story of the heat too this playoffs.
We go down by double digits, come back and win.We take a big lead, and lose.
We won game 2 vs boston after being down by 14, and we sent game 4 to OT after being 18 down.We lost game 5 to boston after being 14 up. Same thing happened vs indiana.
Today, we lost the game after being 13 up.we have tendency to disappear & play carless. The game changed in the 3rd, when we started playing like careless and bricking jumpshots. We need to attack the rim, get fouls..and go to the line.

nah you just stopped hittig lucky 3pts...No lay offs whatsoever.Few of em executed by lebron were extremely difficult

Shooting from difference and it was obvious you gonna start missing at one point while OKC are freaking amazing in that area.I mean its too obvious MIami will loose 4:0
