Michael Jordan

Well, yes he deserves to have a thread dedicated about him.He is The greatest ever to play the game.I was young, when he played & only heard his name.Many of us here are clueless on him, I am sure sac is too.He is very young.We can here teach the new young generation of NBA fans who Michael Jordan was.

We can share the memories about him, what you think of him, will there ever be anyone as good as him?

10 scoring titles, 6 rings, 6 finals MVP, 5 league MVP's..

I like Larry Bird's style more (finesse). But Michael's athleticism and strength allowed him to play for many more years and enabled him to remain in such great tip top shape and condition that the guy started his championship runs by age 27...

lol I remember as a kid one time around the fifth grade I made a small bet that the Jazz would win game 6 at the 1998 finals. Boy was I wrong. It's truly amazing to watch guys like MJ, Bird, Magic, Kareem, do their thing.

Great all-around player (as a lot of elite shooting guards are/were) and was just the "clutchest" player ever. Great in crunch time and could win title as the main guy [(six times, in fact)(most people know that already, though )]. Undoubtedly the greatest player ever, and I don't think we will see anyone even challenge his spot for a long, long time. I would even reach and say he is the Best of the Best Evers, meaning best sports player ever.

Although, his bad spell with the Charlotte Bobcats might hurt his reputation, but definitely not enough to touch his Best Ever title.

If Wilt Chamberlain had half teh supporting cast that Bill Russell did then this would not even be a debate. Wilt was so far above the players of his time that it is not even funny. Even when he was losing to Russell and the Celtics every year, he was still dominating the game. Its just the other guys couldn't match what Russell had around him.


Wilt- greatest player and presense the game has ever seen.

Russell- greatest champion and leader the game has even seen. Even in college with two national titles.

Jordan - the guy who put physical greatness and skill and domination together with winning championships and titles.


Jordan will get credit and the popular vote for greatest ever but Wilt is teh most dominating talent the game has ever seen. He was an extraordinary athlete. won track crowns and a top class sprinter at 7 feet tall. And his stats in basketball will never be approached

Derrick Rose has the potential to be a greater player than Michael Jordan. His athleticism is much superior. Though Jordan's signature jumper is very damn accurate. Rose is always growing and getting a lot better.

If they can get this poor guy a true power forward, he can start his dynasty ASAP.

I've always wondered if Rose will have 3 peats like Mike did and in a similar manner lol from around age 27 or so.

My most hated player of all time. He is the greatest but any Knick fan from the 90s will tell you he crushed our spirit time and time again.

You should add another option: I don`t know. Because realistically how many of us did watch Wilt Chemberlain play?

I have seen some old games on film. But all you have to do is read the record books and accounts of his play and how teams would devote two and three guys to hack the crap out of him and he'd still score 47 and grab 19 rebounds. Like I said, the most dominant player ever and incredibly skilled too. Not just a bunch of dunks but finger rolls and hooks and little jumpers etc. He even led the league in assists one season just because he felt like proving wrong the people who said he was selfish.

He is maybe the most underrated player ever simply because his records are dismissed due to his size and obvious physical gifts. But it is how he used those gifts and athleticism that matter.

It's not so much HIS size and physical gifts, but the lack of his opponents size and physical gifts. Bar someone like Russell, pretty much all his opposition back then were 6'5'' - 6'8'' lanky white guys. When you're Wilt's size, it's impossible to not score a crap load of points.

Still, I do agree what he did was impressive. But the one niggling trait that everyone hates him for is the fact that he never really wanted to win. Jordan won six titles in the toughest era of the league and Wilt won two, the second coming on a really really good team.
