NBA Transactions

In this thread you talk about trades, signs, waives, new staff i.e. coaches, managers, VPs, etc.

So I'll start it off.

Boris Diaw was waived last night.

The guy is an amazing player.

He can play a little of everything in the 1-5 category.

If I had to give him the most minutes on a team, I would play him mostly as a 3 and then a 4. As a 3 you can kind of implement him as a point-forward which takes pressure off your point guard.

San Antonio is chasing him right now and I'm sure a few other teams will be involved in negotiations as well.

I just read in the Mavs official facebook that they parted ways with Sean Williams!

They release the roster spot for who? Maybe Diaw? Kaman who wants a buyout from Hornets?

Lazio midfield 1999: ** Nedved - Veron - Simeone - Conceicao

Lazio midfield, 13.12.2009: ** Kolarov - Firmani - Del Nero - Lichtsteiner

The Rockets waived Terrence Williams and we signed him soon after it. And we also waived J.J. Hickson recently.

lol, I remember we almost traded Amare for J.J. Hickson a few years back when he played for the Cavs. This guys was supposed to have a bright future. Wow, never seen someone's career go down the shitter that fast.

shiaben, "Boris Diaw an amazing player" really? Maybe 3-4yrs ago in his days with the Suns. The guy has really regressed as of late. Still would be a solid pickup for a playoff team like the Spurs, but I wouldn't rate him that highly anymore.

I don't think it is as much a Hickson's fault as it is that we are stacked wiuth big men on the team. He has shown sparks of great play, at times even, with limited minutes. I beleive if he goes to the right team, one that is lacing a dcent four, he could start there and be effective. He does have a bit of upside, he just didn't have a real good chance to show it here in Sacramento.

That's true.

But I think it might have to do more with weight issues and psychological reasons. If Popovich can straighten him out, even if they implement him as a bench player, its better than nothing. He's a utility type of guy. On top of that his best buddy from France Tony Parker is at San Antonio. He'll LOVE to play with him. It will change his mentality (motivated for a possible one run ring). He really hated Charlotte and was well aware that this terribly ran organization will go nowhere so he lost his confidence a bit.

Agreed, still wouldn't say he's an 'amazing' player though.

When motivated he still is amazing, just ask any New York fan... problem is it seems like it only happens when he plays a MDA Knicks team.

The heat signed ronny turiaf.Shows you the big problems we got in the center position.Joel Anthony is worst NBA center starter.

I think turiaf is at least, better then pittman or eddy curry

Is Eddy Curry really that bad now?

Joel Anthony's defence is a big big big big part of why Miami's defence is so amazing.. he's the worst offensive starting center though i'll give you that - but what he brings to the court defensively is nothing to dismiss at all.

Turiaf came cause the Heat's bench in that position is terrible, not cause of JA.

He also doesn't answer the weaknesses as he's undersized and a below average rebounder esp defensively, and he's always injured too - but still better then all the rest the Heat had as backups like you said.

Yes curry is that bad. Turiaf is high energy defensive guy, a solid pickup I say considering who we comparing him with.
His problem is he played 4 games till now, lets hope he returns to shape. If he returns to shape, he is better then curry or pittman easily.

Friendly foe: Joakim Noah said he contacted Ronny Turiaf, his teammate on the French national team, after his buyout by the Nuggets. Speaking before Turiaf signed with the Heat later Wednesday, Noah offered a scouting report on the reserve big man.

"He's a great defensive player and somebody who is very underrated offensively," Noah said. "He can shoot it a little. He's good in handoff situations. He can finish well at the rim. Whoever picks him up is definitely going to get a great addition."

Nice pick-up for the heat. a starting lineup of: Chalmers-Wade-James-Bosh-Turiaf looks definitely good. The Heat have been my pick all year for the title and with the addition of Ronny Turiaf, he will really help them if they reach the Finals against the West teams' center.

I have a solution for the Heat .

Why not use Turiaf like Rambis

Make him a "good defender" by beating people up when the ref ain't looking LOL.

Its official baby. Boris Diaw to the Spurs. A championship run UNLIKE last year, isn't impossible. Last year they ran an 8-9 man rotation, now they have enough for a 12 man rotation. Unlike last year, Blair will be playing, he won't be suspended by Popovich for being overweight as he's learned his lesson. Splitter was retarded last year, but this year looks like he's improved more. Duncan has lost weight and he's been working on improving his endurance. Danny Green and Kawi Leonard bring them fresh legs.

I really can't wait. Great sign.

Turiaf had a very solid first game for us.

4 points ( 2 - 2) 4 rebounds 1 assists 1 steal 2 fouls in 11 minutes of play

I think he is very much capable of benching joel "worst nba starter" anthony

He was so/so for the debut. If they can manage to give him some direction, it's better than nothing at this point. And given he's an inch taller than Anthony, if*** he can move better unlike the rest of his career, and just play a bit smarter, it can take a bit of pressure off that center spot.

Pasq u should watch JA on the defensive side of the floor and see how importent he is, there's no way he's the worst starter in the league, not even close.
