yeah saw this trailer recently

continuing on this bizarre Americans-on-tour-get-mutilated-by-Europeans xenophobia theme

absolutely vile concept for a film and I'd be interested to see if it actually gets anything resembling a general release

also not sure how much mileage you can actually get out of three people who are joined together in a lab who occasionally sh*t in each others mouths ...

very peculiar

I could glue a couple of pieces of cardboard as wings onto my car, but I wouldn't call it a functioning flying car even if it would be able to "fly" 50 meters if I drove it at full speed off a cliff.

i saw this in a magazine too, they keep saying it's medically accurate which was interesting.

But now that i saw the trailer, looks pretty lame.

There's better acting on ABC Family. But then again, who would want to act in that?

Nope, i read in a magazine when i was in barnes and nobles that it was completely medically accurate but they dont explain it in details, a little disappointed because as medical student, i'd like to know how this would actually work!

For the hype it's getting in those magazines, the trailer shows that it's in fact a pretty low budget B movie

That's got to be the worst idea ever.

I've always wondered if siamese triplets were possible though.

What exactly is supposed to be medically accurate? That it's possible to sew the face of one person to the ass of another?

Oh, my bad. Just watched the clip again. Connecting the gastric systems? I sincerely doubt that's possible.

Anyway, this seems like an awesome movie. I really want to see it. Correction, I really must see it. I have to know the motivation behind this strange human centipede project, what's in it for Dr Crazy Guy Living In The Woods... :undecide:

Anatomically probably possible, but will it be successful? probably not, the people would have to be on serious immunosuppressors, lots of pain killers to even remotely get things started.

And i kind of think the first guy is getting away with it; why not extend the centipede into a circle and have the last person to be a male, and sew his penis into the first person's mouth permanently? it'll wont be a centipede but at least the first guy wont get away with murder.

I interpreted "medically accurate" as it would be able to perform the procedure AND the "human centipede" would be able to live (for more than a few days).

I can see a number of issues that could arise from this procedure. First of all, if one gets pooped in the mouth I would imagine one would get pretty revolted. Would the stitching be strong enough to endure the person struggling to break free? I also think that the probability of person number 2 suffocating to death (on a nice blend of poop and puke) as the first person goes "number 2" is pretty high.

It's not as if the centipede would have a functioning digestive system.

I could glue a couple of pieces of cardboard as wings onto my car, but I wouldn't call it a functioning flying car even if it would be able to "fly" 50 meters if I drove it at full speed off a cliff.

But judging by Dr Crazy Guy's detailed graphics of his plan it looked like he was going to alter the entire intestinal system rather than just sew ass to mouth, so maybe he's onto something... :undecide:

ok, let's think about this medically.

Well first off i think he would have to pull from the small intestine for extension since it's the longest, the mesentary that holds the colon together shoudn't be severed because of how the other organs are positioned needless to mention the arteries and veins connected AND the nerves.

If he pulls from the Small intestine, not even mentioning the nerve connections and the arteries; the duodenum is the main site of lipid digestion, if you alter this, there would be a great chance of increase acid output and decrease iron absorption, this is no good. The jujunem is where you absorb water and electrolyte so even if the kidneys were functional, there would be a lot of diarrhea going to the next person. Terminal illeum is the place where you absorp vitamin B12, if deficient can cause series macrocytic anemia.

They all would have serious ulcers and malaborption.
This is just basically a very very brief concern i can think of right off the bat, obviously the signals that trigger digestion is way more intricut and vagus nerve plays a major role in it.

B movie? Lets say, there isnt much problem with movie quality (like special effects, acting and such) but the movie itself is...gross

A sequel, titled The Human Centipede II (Full Sequence) has been planned for theaters in 2011, with filming starting in London in June 2010.[33] Full Sequence will supposedly include a centipede composed of twelve individuals.[34] Tom Six has stated that the first film in effect will serve to get audiences used to the idea of a human centipede, preparing them for the idea of a much more graphic and disturbing sequel, 'First Sequence' being "'My Little Pony compared with part two."[5]

Tom Six has claimed that he is developing ideas for a third part, but wants to see what will happen with the second part first.
