Next Inter Coach

It's fairly clear now what Spaletti's limitations are.

He can motivate his team to perform well against big teams and team that really attack, but is utterly incapable of winning consistnetly against smaller sides with determination, and especially sides that park the bus.

With Spaletti in charge Inter will routinely lose to the likes of Sassuolo, Bologna, Parma, Cagliari and Atalanta.

Also, his Inter teams have been completely and utterly reliant on wing play (see Derby yesterday). Almost no football happens through the middle, except for that brief phase when Rafinha was at Inter.

Interested to hear everyone's choice, but be realistic please. No Guardiola. 4 weeks ago Simeone signed a new contract at Atletico till 2022.

But yeah. Spaletti, Conte, Allegri, Giampaolo, whoever.

Allegri is maybe less likely now that Zidane has gone back to Real.

Conte is favourite but Inter REALLY don't have the fullbacks to play 3-5-2, nor is Lautaro Conte's type of striker (Zapata probably is)

I don't have the knowledge to make an educated suggestion. But from the names that have been rumoured I'd definitely prefer Conte.

If not Conte then I wouldn't be against trying an up and coming whippersnapper like Corini for example. I don't follow Serie B enough to know if it would be a good fit though.

The more I think about it, the less suitable I think Conte is

First off, he needs 2 good wing-backs. Inter have zero good wing-backs.

Secondly, he needs 2 high-quality defensive midfielders in the centre. Inter have zero high-quality defensive midfielders.

For flexibility he also needs a high-quality inside forward who can also move out wide (a la Hazard/Tevez). Perisic is leaving and Keita surely won't be redeemed at 40 million euros.

Also, as I said before, Lautaro is not a Conte-style striker. We know he likes a more robust, physical striker like Lukaku (who he tried to sign)/Giroud (who he did sign)/ Diego Costa (who he hated but got the best out of)/Eder (LOL)/Graziano Pelle (LOL)

So, with the exception of the centre-backs, Inter don't really have the typical Conte players.

Although I guess he could abandon wingers, go with Lautaro and Zapata upfront, and sign 2 midfielders to play alongside Brozovic in the middle.....

Did you guys not read the BOMBSHELL I posted?

Cambiasso has been tipped to take over from Spalletti ( @red : I've let it slide for too long now...spell his name with the double "l", ffs ) if he lost the derby and presumably if results become poor again.

Saw that but it won't happen. No point in doing that now. He has us 3rd in the table after 28 games FFS.

Cambiasso needs to cut his teeth in South America or a small Euro team first before he can be considered as an Inter manager. I hope to see him do it one day though.

But after Simeone

No mention of Mourinho!

He's been on Bein MENA a few times now over the past few weeks. Whenever asked about Inter, sometimes without even the questions, he's been whoring himself big time! Either he's truly desperate or it's just a high-stakes strategy from him....

No expectations..No disappointments

Don't make the Milan mistake of possibly ruining former players. Cambiasso or any others should at least show something elsewhere.

Sam Allardyce

If no other reporting existed on Trump/Russia, the fact that the FBI started a CI investigation to determine whether or not the sitting president of the US was either comprised by or an agent of Russia, it would be the biggest political story...ever.

Soros is very, very rich and funds every SJW-cause imaginable. Those are facts, not a conspiracy.

I agree with him that this was a total setup

Cambiasso being an assistant is more realistic. Like he was at Colombia. Perhaps he will be Mourinho's new Beppe Baresi?

Umm did someone mention Corini? Wtf.

Lovely player mind you. One of my favourite Serie A midfielders in his playing days. Him and Liverani.

As for Conte and wingbacks.. didn't he use Victor Moses there? We might see Perisic as a wingback if he stays.

He seems to be doing well with Brescia this season. Maybe he's established himself as a competent coach after getting the necessary experience or maybe it's just a fluke.

But I'd rather have Corini than Mou or one of the usual suspects. Unless someone who's more initiated can convince me that Corini is actually shit.

Odd that you guys are face down, ass up when it comes to Icardi and Wanda and will take literally anything from them but at the same time think you're in a position to pick and choose which top coach can coach you.

I'm sure Allegri is dying to leave a top team to coach Inter and not another top team or simply stay put.

Who has said that Allegri is a sure thing if we want him? I think that you might be imagining things.

It's also weird that you seem to be in the know with regards to the Icardi situation. As far as I know both camps are being rather vague in their description of the situation.

lol who cares what that idiot pav says. He is seemingly unaware that more successful coaches than Allegri have coached Inter before - Including previous juve coaches like Trap and Lippi.

I am reading that Saul is going to City and Greizmann might go to Man U. Would Simeone accept 2 of his best players (3 including Godin) leaving in 1 summer? Not saying he will certainly leave as a consequence, though..considering he lost players before like Diego Costa, Arda Turan, Courtois, Filipe Luis, Falcao etc..and still remained.

La Repubblica - Antonio Conte is Inter coach for next season, Marotta believes he's right man for the job

La Repubblica is convinced: Antonio Conte will be the future coach of Inter. The recent outburst done by Luciano Spalletti at the end of Inter-Lazio was not at all appreciated by the club and its managers.

Giuseppe Marotta, reportedly, had to explain to the 28th richest man in China (Zhang Jindong) how it is possible that a coach, who is destined to leave at the end of the season, can attack a striker like that after leaving him in the stands while his team, without strikers, lost at home against a direct competition for the Champions League race. Because Zhang has been very clear: the goal is to play in Europe, the real competition, and there is no time to lose because of this issue.

La Repubblica explains that “Spalletti did clarify with Marotta and it seems that most of the players really appreciated the coach’s hard stance on the matter. It is precisely because of the relationship with the players that the club, although annoyed, is determined to finish the season with Spalletti on the bench.

But in June, a change will happen. There is a great feeling between Inter and Antonio Conte to the point that the former Italian national team coach is now “booked” for next season because according to Marotta, he is the right man for the Champions League project.

Spalletti also has a contract for the next two seasons with a net salary of 4 million euros a year , but at the end of the championship he can end his adventure on the Inter bench . Date on the tracks of Mourinho, Allegri and above all Conte . For the latter in particular, according to Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport , the Chinese property of Suning asked the main corporate sponsors for an extra budget to finance the hiring of the coach and the market purchase campaign. The Italian defender Darmian (Manchester United), the Croatian midfielder Rakitic (Barcelona) and the Bosnian striker Dzeko (Roma) are already in their sights .

Yeah, the Conte thing looks like its happening. It will soon be one of these "worst kept secrets in football"....

I'm a bit p*ssed off about the Dzeko thing, as it seems Inter are genuinely going to approach him. Basically a low-cost stop-gap solution. Zapata would be so much better, but probably 30 million more expensive. Zapata is a beast. Dzeko, meanwhile, has really dropped off. Didn't have a particularly great season last season, and has been worse again this season.

Darmian also looks fairly inevitable From Cancelo to Vrsaljko to Darmian in the space of 2 years

I wouldn't spend big on Zapata, he might turn out to be a one season wonder. Signing a 28 year old striker who breached the 20-goal mark once in his career (and usually hovers around 10 league goals) doesn't seem like a sensible move.
