Do we really keep Dalbert beyond this season though? He is quite obviously not wanted by Spalletti. I think we probably cut our losses with him.

I'd still keep him personally. Between him and Santon for instance, I prefer Dalbert. It also seems that Nagatomo is leaving, so Dalbert should stay and compete with Asamoah if the Ghanian does arrive.

Turkish media claim Inter have a pre-contract agreement with Shaktar's Bernard, the background being that other news agencies claimed he was close to signing for Besiktas.

I saw him play against Roma in Ukraine and he looked superb.

The player also has an EU passport.

Worth noting that he is LEFT-SIDED, so he would either replace/challenge Perisic or cause Perisic to be moved to the right wing

Would be amazing if Lautaro, Bernard, de Vrij and Asamoah are all signed before the current season is even over.

We will play in Europe next season (CL or EL) so having Bernard and Karamoh to compete with Perisic and Candreva is required.

De Vrij, Bernard, Asamoah and Martinez for 30mill combined is very shrewd if we pull them off.

Inter ready to submit contract of Stefan De Vrij and Asamoah in coming days

Inter transfer market started a while ago and the first fruits are harvested. In addition to Martinez, Stefan De Vrij and Kwadwo Asamoah are ready to wear the Inter colors. The two have expiring contract with Lazio and Juventus and in the coming days, their Inter contracts will be submitted linking to the club of Suning for years to come. With them, Inter have the intention to renew Spalletti’s defense.

De Vrij, waiting to understand what will be the future of Joao Miranda whose contract expires in 2019, is virtually the next partner of Milan Skriniar in the back. Asamoah, instead, will cover the left wing where Davide Santon is going to leave. Dalbert could go out on loan despite the positive performance at Udinese.

Imo Dalbert should stay. Asamoah has a dodgy record in terms of fitness, and taking that into consideration Dalbert should remain.

Cancelo/DD on the right
Asamoah/Dalbert on the left
Firdaus likes this.

I think Dalbert could be turned into a good Serie A player, but there's no point in him staying if Spaletti is only going to give him 2 starts a season

de Vrij and Asamoah are great signings but if Cancelo and Rafinha aren't signed then the transfer campaign will be a failure

Yeah agreed. Rafinha adds another dimension to us from deep as earlier this season we mostly depended on crosses to win matches but it's good to have variety in attack and someone from deep to create and be a goal threat. I would say that Rafinha has actively helped us get 12-15 points since arriving in Jan.

Cancelo in terms of creating chances is the best RB in the league. He created chances in matches against Fiorentina, Milan, juve, Napoli, Benevento, Spal, Verona, Udinese, Samp, Roma etc.

If Dalbert is sold, Spalletti and rest of management won't be cutting their losses but taking huge L's.

seems like we are linked with William Carvalho.

I normally don't like Portuguese league star players, but i'd be interested if he is available at a reasonable price

I would approve of William Carvalho coming in. His physicality would be welcomed.

At the price being quoted for Carvalho I would definitely try and sign Strootman.

The club has had generally appalling results with Portuguese league players (Joao Mario, Quaresma, Pereira)f

I assume you mean Strootman would be a choice if we can make it to the CL, otherwise we would have severe financial limitations and also him leaving a CL team for a non-CL team would need some serious incentive?

But isn't he also in a steady decline after his injury?

I prefer Carvalho to Strootman really. Younger and more of a pure DM. Roma won't sell Strootman to us anyhow.

They would have to if Inter activate the buyout clause and Strootman agrees terms. It's not like they desperately wanted to sell Pjanic to Juve

No one actually knows what the financial limitations are at the moment, we just know the club isn't allowed to spend before June 30.

Suning are not allowed to invest their own cash, we know that, but they have increased the club's brand value and, presumably, revenue.

There might be 80 million euros knocking around somewhere, like last summer.

That's enough to sign Strootman and two other players.

That is assuming Rafinha's loan is extended and Cancelo is not signed (which really seems to be the case at the moment)

Knowing our luck he'll be Rafinha's replacement.

Decent as a squad player, nothing more. The Valero debacle has illustrated how difficult it is for ageing, inconspicuous players from small clubs to arrive on the big stage and leave their comfort zone.

Aha.

Buyout clauses are dumb really. At least the one we have for Icardi is quite high and only valid abroad...

You are referencing 1 example only though. And Ilicic is 3 years younger than Borja so he might have a couple of decent seasons in him.

He's a good player.

I just hope he's not a replacement for Rafinha.
