Qatar league chat

January's often a time when the sides there all open up their wallets. At least that's what I remember from last season when quite a few French league players went there.

So far this season, lazy ass Afonso Alves has been brought in as has Juninho.

Who will be the next superstar coming in?

Lex Immers - Pace & power. Holland's #1 box to box player

Feyenoord forum - the place to talk about this phenomenon

Alves plays for Al Sadd

and the first big winter signing is in:

Daniel Carvalho to Al Arabi

Al Sadd (Alves) and Al Gharafa (Juninho) will btw be representing Qatar in the ACL

the league doesn`t attract me these days due the low tempo of games, few fans attend each game... etc.

true, once saw a game on a stream and it was as if they were having a kick about with friends lol
and it certainly wasn't due to the heat either (played at night in November I think)

it`s a very good signing for al arabi.
i remember him played for the brazilian youth nt in uae few years ago, then moved to russia(i think). he has a strong left foot.

as for the qatar clubs in acl, they rarely do a good results or any kind of competing to win this competition. i think only al sadd who won the acl before 19 years maybe. i.e, only 1 asian title for the qatari clubs.

no, not due to the heat. don`t forget that the weather is quite the same especially in the arabian gulf. look at the games in saudia and emirates for example.

The Qatari league gets a lot of undeserved coverage but Al-Jazeera is a Qatari channel and the money spent on it is absured.

Vamos Argentina!

I was in Doha last month for a couple of days, the number of forigners there is frightening! I went to Souq Waqef and you can count the Qatari's on one hand!

Wish some of the money split on football there used to reform the streets! The country is as small as one street in Cairo with so much money, no wonder the amount of money spent on football.

Vamos Argentina!

aljazeera do great work to cover the biggest competitions in the world, recently they won the rights of saudi leagues this season is far better than qatari.

How many leagues are they showing? p as I take it they've probably got a monopoly on all the top European leagues too lol

aljazeera package has 12 sports channels, it`s enough for you to watch the biggest european and arabian leagues too.. that`s in so many types of sports, not only football.
