Lebanon NT: The Red and Whites

The Lebanon national football team is the national team of Lebanon and is controlled by the Federation Libanaise de Football Association. It has never qualified for the World Cup finals. The closest they have come was the qualifying for the 2006 tournament, where a win against Vietnam in their last group match would have seen them progress to the group stage ahead of the much favoured Korea Republic.

Lebanon also hosted the 2000 AFC Asian Cup, but didnt made it past the group stages as the team lost 4-0 to Iran and tied Iraq (2-2) and Thailand (1-1).

We beat India 4-1 in Sidon. Reda Antar was Man of the match. Thanks for the series of threads, let's all try and update them when we can.

TODAY, the return leg ended 2-2. India lead 1-0 at half time. Mohammed Ghaddar scored both of Lebanon's goals.

Although, the first leg result is a positive one, the 2nd leg proves that there still is work to be done from former Ansar coach Adnan al Sharki.

He is one of the most (if not the most) successful football managers in Lebanon, but his style is like a military drill-sergeant. Uses alot of bad language in the dugout, our stadiums are small and the microphones usually pick it up...words like ya hayawen and ya kalb can clearly be heard lol

Don't lament the treachery of time;
long have dogs danced over the carcasses of lions.

Don't suppose that their dancing raises them above their masters;
for dogs remain dogs, and lions remain lions.

Insult me as you wish;
For my silence to the depraved is a response.

It's not that I have no response, but;
A lion does not reply to a dog.

Lebanon will play NORTH KOREA as the next opponent!!

North Korea won their preliminaries vs. Mongolia 5-1 (Pyongyang) and 4-1 (Ulan Bator).

Bring them on!! :fero:

Yeah, they gave Bahrain a tough time in Pyongyang for the 2006 qualifiers IIRC. I remember watching that game, most of the crowd was made up of military personnel dressed in dark/olive green colored suits.

Interesting place for our boys to visit, I hope it doesn't reach their heads and start causing "mashkal" every other minute.

We did hold Ahn-Jung-Hwan's South Korea to a 0-0 draw in Beirut a couple years ago. Anything's possible :hopeful:

You've mixed up the things here. Our Olympic team will play against North Korea in Lebanon, the National team has no games to play until Feb 08 when the third round of the World Cup Qualifications starts.

I do not think Lebanon can beat Uzbakistan or Saudi Arabia home or away.

Vamos Argentina!

Not with Israel after 1948. There was a friendly back 1940 though. Game ended 5-1 for them.

Lebanon lost to Saudi 4-1 in the WCQ first round.

At least Saudi coach (Brazilian) was nice enough to compliment our tactics.

Now that the country has sort of got its act together (politically), I really wish our football team can improve again.
